The Samsung EX1 makes one drool.. The price seems to be rocket high @ USD800?
How much is it in SGP? Anyone seen it in the market yet?

For self portrait, you do need 24mm. 28mm at an arms length only can put my head into it plus a bit of of the sides.

curious, where did you get this pricing from?
dpreview spec sheet lists MSRP of 400Stg

just to compare, does the 24mm and 28mm make a big difference in the coverage?

define "big" with ur opinion :)

thanks for all the helpful comments so far! :);):D;p

a) When it comes to wide angle, every mm counts.

Horizontal angle of view for 24 mm = 72.1 deg, for 28 mm = 64 deg
Vertical angle of view for 24 mm = 51.7 deg, for 28 mm = 45 deg

b) S90 retracts lens fully and has no need for lens cap. A BIG plus. Who wants to carry a lens cap for a compact camera?

c) LX3 has better handling and ergonomics than S90.

well i guess that solves my problem! for the lens cap there is a attachable triangle-like lens cap that flips open when the lens potrudes out for the LX3.

yeah every mm counts for wide angle hence my reason for asking..

thanks for ur comments..

S90 vs LX3 - not sure if appearance counts, at least the look of the lens. Those who knows Canon will be able to tell if such lens is really what Canon usually offers.

Hi, HX5V for low light and indoor photos is great with full HD and waiting for TZ10.

What you are referring too is a Ricoh LC2 lens cap, not a Panasonic off the shelf accessory. That needs to be modded for LX3, unless you buy it already modded on the BnS. It’ll set you buck $30-40 bucks first hand. There modding guides on the internet, and google is your friend. :)

i bought the G11 ytd. looks great and feels steady. However i feel that S90 is too small and delicate for me to handle.. :D

Has anyone considered the new Samsung TL500? It looks very good on paper, and is to be released $50 cheaper than the competition.

The black version looks great also :)

just got my s90 as an alternative to my dslr. i handled both the s90 and lx3. i preferred the image quality and all of the s90.

the knob at the back is loose. you will inevitably turn it accidentally the first 2 or 3 days you use it. but you really will learn to keep your hands off it and it will not be a problem to you anymore. same thing with the flash. you learn to keep your fingers off that area. especially after the camera 'kiaps' your finger accidentally when it is lowering the flash the first few times.

hope by the time you read this, you would have alr gotten your camera. but just in case you havent, my two cents worth..

CNET Asia's review of S90 is actually inaccurately. I feel that it tends to support certain brands even though S90 matches/exceeds the quality of the other brand eg the newly reviewed F80EXR.

DP review is more neutral.

So readers beware.
