Wow. Keeping my fingers crossed that the SB800 be used with the LX3 as well as I plan to use the LX3 as my backup / pocket camera ;p

If SB 900 can 800 no problem...:D

LoL...the combination is so dam weird but v funny...lol :bsmilie:

Dun dare to venture outside....ppl sure laugh!...:bsmilie:

I think people will be wondering what you are trying to do with a flash!! Thanks for helping to confirm that SB-900 can work with LX3. Otherwise I would have been confused by an AP sales guy who says that Nikon flash cannot work with LX3.

I remember you have a Canon G9, right? So fast switch to LX3?

Yup...G9 abit heavy, 4 mths old nia...LX night shots very good!...;p

Hello there. Was using a SB800 on the LX3 yesterday. SB800 was set to Auto mode. Works well, though very top heavy. Got laughed at by everyone cos the flash looked twice the size of the camera.

Cheers

WRT 1st post: then again, my cousin has been using her ixus 60 for years - she fills up hard drives with pics of her kids - and it's still going. She handed it to me the other day to take pics for her youngest's 2nd birthday, and it was working great! I guess there are always lemons in mass production. My old Sony Ericsson phone's joystick became faulty at 1yr+, but my sister's is older and still no prob...

Bro, I would be VERY interested in seeing how you hold the LX3 with the SB900 mounted ;p I'm use to holding my D300+18-200mm VR lens now with the SB800 not adding too much weight on top. I wonder what is the best way to hold the LX3 with a comparably heavier SB800 mounted on top in order to properly take photos with minimal handshake

eh or try to hold the flash instead

Here's how the SB800 looks when mounted.
Bounce flash.
I'm holding the cam =)

Hope this helps with your query.

sb400 or sb600 will do fine.

I am interested in getting the casing but noticed that the hood (if you can call it that) might have to be detached completely when in use.

Has anyone used a similar type of case before? Can comment how convenient it is? I'm picturing myself having to fumble with the detached portion, trying to find a way to keep it before I can take a shot. Either that, or I'm holding it in one hand and the camera in another...

So SB400 can also work with LX3? Anyone tried it?

If it does, I will be keen to get SB400. :)

Hmm, I don't own a SB400, but as long as it is a standard hotshoe, it'll work.
But you'll probably need to set the flash power manually.
