Wolfgang...
many thanks to you for your humble contribution of the night pic. That is very kind of you. But your level of expertise of very way much much higher than your humble clown here, so do you think me, being a novice user, would be able to capture nice, if not good (great will be a bit over-realistic) pics with this LX2? pooling up to get this item..

you were saying PPP Complex, an shop name? Quoted? Freebies?

ahh...also, did you do any post editin of the pics?

practice makes perfect... if LX2 can't get you good pic, i doubt any other cam will since it depends on the user + lx2 is a pretty good cam by itself.

Both pictures were edited only by the adjustments of curves. Taken @ ISO 100 @ 10MP. :)

The pictures you can take is only limited by your imagination, creativity, hard work and patience. You are too kind with your praises though. :) Ultimately, just remember the camera is a tool for you to express yourself.

You simply need to get well acquainted with the camera, learn it's quirks and strength and start shooting. :) But i reckon this compact gem well serve any photographer well. :)

Hope they redesign the lens cover on their next version, prefer those that auto close when off.

Alrighty. :) I do looking forward to seeing your pictures. :)

Anyone tried this: the LX2's high-angle LCD for overhead shots can also be used as low-angle LCD for an 'ant' view framing...

here's an example...though i could hv gone lower by squatting down:

wow! this is an excellent compact cam. got this last weekend and still admiring it. very plsd with the pics and videos. by the way the video when played on a HD TV is awesome!
don't wait--you won't regret this purchase.

wanna buy the lx2 but in the meantime shall wait for review of the sigma dp1 and leica dlux3 before making up my mind. the dp1 sounds promising.

The dp1 is really just a prototype. E.g. the press release seems to suggest this is to be a fixed 28 equiv. lens a la Ricoh, while the shot of the back shows T[ele] and W[ide] buttons which would not appear in a zoomless camera. It does look pretty in the same cheesy way fuji waterproof 35mm compacts did. Well, and of course Panasonic's et al. flat casette players from the early 80s. Those were the days.

In order not to be completely OT - I'm still waiting for my lx2, but getting a black one in Poland borders on the impossible.

I'm thinking to buy the LX2.

Can anyone advise me where to get the best deal in town?
and how much does the leica version cost? :)
