Hi Guys

I just wanted to share a few images I've taken using the LX1. Excellent camera, I'm using it more and more!

Thank you for "making" me buy one

Thank you, hope you like them!

Just having fun! I think this shall be my dedicated "black and white" digital camera.

Agree with Weekh - shoot raw and process the pictures - that's the LX-1's greatest strength. Otherwise even with jpegs and black and white - noise is no longer too much of an issue...

Why restrict it to B&W?
Let the color rocks and rolls!

From my recent trip, it's so convenient with a P&S, glad I gave up bringing a DSLR with Wide/Tele zoom combo for a small P&S camera. It's the way to go for travels, light and compact.

Yes Weekh, colour would be great if I didn't live in Manchester, the land of eternal greyness :embrass:

Never been to Manchester... But just make do with whatever u have and enjoy the cam!

When I started with photography, I always think that the grass is greener in other place. Always go travelling. But I later discovered that it is not so challenging when u're presented with nice and photographic scenary or subjects. Given that, anyone who is techinically competant will take nice photos. Actually the real challenge is capturing extraordinary out of the ordinary. This will help u to devlelop and express your vision.

 to Kheng Hor. You not only make extraordinary images out of the ordinary, you do that with cameras too!

LX1 is an extraordinary camera! How many 16;9 format cam are there in the market?
How many pocketable digicams allow u to shoot in RAW? And not 4getting the solid leica lens!!

Excellent image! Was this with your waterproof gizmo?...

I'm thinking of getting this camera also.. and i saw that there is a photograph that is taken underwater! Is there an underwater casing that can be used with this? What model is that and where can i get it?????? I've been looking for a good camera with underwater casing for a REALLY LONG time!

There's no dedicated underwater housing for LX1.
But there are several underwater housing plastic bags available for all types of camera.

"Underwater" as in "community pool" not "Bimini"

If you want something deeper than a meter or two use something more robust. The SeaLife DC500 gets high marks from my dive buddies, can do 60m, and costs similar to the LX1. Oddly I never see it mentioned in places like, say, dpreview.

wow, all the 16:9 photos very nice leh...

This thread influenced my decision to get one for myself last weekend. Thought no P&S will come close to my Canon PowershotS45 which I have been using for two years.

Thanks to those who contributed here.
