well, all equipment has their relative strengths and weaknesses.. and in this case, the LX1's archilles heel is when you need to shoot in low ambient lighting without flash and the CCD just doesn't perform up to scratch even if you shoot RAW.
for me, that is a real pity as i do a lot of indoor shooting without flash and the LX1's wide angle lens is perfect for that but the CCD just doesn't work as well for that as I wanted it.
to me, it is more of a daylight camera, in which the results will surely reward you.
that is probably why one camera will work for someone extremely well but may be not up to the task for you.
