LX1 Rocks!!!

My cam is set to auto WB.
When i open the RAW file after the shot in CS2, i'll try to adjust the WB back to normal.
I find the daylight 5500k too yellow and thus will try to bring it to around 4800k.

Also, the exposure and contrast is also auto adjusted when the file is open. And I'll try to bring them back to normal.

Bascially i'm just trying to bring the exposure and contrast back to normal from the adjustments in the cam / CS2.

Returned today with an DSLR + 70-200L.

This pix cost me $30 - parking fine.

The LX1 got less distortion.

Don't think the Panasonic camera division here is aggressive. Else I will approach them for sponsorship to exhibit my pixs taken with LX1.

Love the background. Please let me know where is this place.:)

IIRC that's very close to Maxwell Market..

Thinking of getting the Leica Crumpler bag for my LX1. KB Camera sells for US$29.90.
Any idea if this bag is sold locally?

i just so love this cam.... any idea if prices have droped ?
got a feeling that pana will spring a surprise with LX2 soon....

I read that Lx1 is using true 16:9 format and crop down to 32-33mm to reach 4:3 format while FX01 uses true 4:3 format and crop bottom and upper side for 16:9 format. These 2 camera seem to offer similar features.

However, in terms of the quality, can anyone please kindly do a comparison between them? I saw that FX01's night & indoor shot are horrible & noisy -> http://www.dpreview.com/gallery/panasonic_dmcfx01_samples/.

Thanks a lot :p

Don't understand.. What did you compare against to come to the conclusion that it's noisy and horrible? Care to show show?

I think it is the cam...
here's a clich shot and imo, the 16:9 format works better than the normal format.

Wah piang, this is very misleading leh.. you can probably took this pic with most other camera & crop off the top & bottom..

But to have an eye for such a pic is 100% becos of the master behind the camera.

最高境界 = 草木树石皆可为剑

I think it really doesn't matter what cam u r using ;)

This is not my vision lah...
This is a cliche photo which I've seen and taken many many years ago....

Have a primary school friend who used to stay at the corner of the 25th floor.

IMO, it does matter to a certain extent as to what camera one is using. Certain cameras force you to compose your shot in the format which it is designed to shoot in. In the case of the LX1 16:9 format, one really has to work with the composition to ensure it fits the framing. Sure you can crop from 4:3 in post production but capturing the shot in a 4:3 frame would have forced the photographer to work under a different set of creative considerations from shooting in the wider 16:9 frame.

click on the dpreview link you'll see :p
when it's shot in lowlight indoor, you can notice a lot of noise, patches and blurry pixels.

how does lx1 cope with indoor shooting?
I'm so tempted.
Quoted s$815 with free 1 G Sd card ,original case, 4R printing paper...

agreed
im using 3:2 (nikon) and i prefer it over my fz5 4:3. but i guess it depends on indivisual and style of shooting.

Hi, Navygreen

Where do you get your offer of S$815 plus 1g memory card??

Is it with gst??

Thanks.

Tend to tilt my camera with the 16:9 format.

LOL I'm not asking where to see the noise. I'm asking what you compared against to say that it's alot of noise? dSLR? F11? or is it because you see noise and thus you call it alot?
