Wow, $734 for LX1 is a very good buy. Can advise on the shop name? I'm really interested after viewing weekh's pics.

hello.. i juz went to sim lim today to check out the price for lx 1.. seems that most shops r selling 800 plus(includes gst) .. theres one particular shop that sells for 734(includes gst) with a 512 sd card.. is it too good to be true?

Can you tell me which shop as I'm going to get one for my wife. Thanks:)

Hi weekh,

I have the Leica D-Lux 2 version and been trying to use my old Olympus T20 as an external flash with a slave trigger and I can't seems to be able to get it to "sync" correctly. At night in my living room with fluorecent white lamp when I shoot the living room with the slave flash on, the picture turns out very dark.. even darker than shooting with just the onboard flash. Same thing happens when I shoot in darkness with slave flash on.

Funny thing is that when I shoot under the same lighting condition on near object its too powerful and the picture becomes over exposed. I am using manual mode with the aperture setting according to the flash distance.

Any ideas or helps is appreciated.

Thanks.
The Sunpak Remotelite II flash which I got from Cathay Photo works very well with my Leica D-Lux 2. ;)

sorry guys.. regarding the 734 price that i quoted.. the next day when i went to the shop n asked him the price .. the same person told me 850.. told him i came yesterday n the price quoted was diff .. he said r u sure .. was it the right model n who quoted? i pointed to this uncle which im sure was the one that quoted me n he said he wasnt working yesterday(pure crap) they even ask me to get my facts right b4 asking.. when i specifically asked twice the price of lx 1 when i came the previous day.. (speechless)

I'm thinking of getting myself a Leica D-Lux2. Anyone interested? Maybe we can get a better price with bulk order.....

how much does the Leica D-Lux costs? I am thinking of getting the Lumix Lx1, if the Leica price not too expensive, then can consider getting it:think:

I think the leica cost about $1180 as compared to $850 for the lx1.

So what do we get for the extra $330? Is it only cosmetics and the 'Leica' logo? or any other extras compare to the lumix.......

u get 2 yrs warranty, photoshop element, clumper pouch lor...

they are basically the same camera.

i'm just going after the red dot + the cleaner and nicer design.

I don't know much about Panasonic and its range of digicam models.

I only know about LX1 and am eagerly waiting for the L1. ;p

I'm using the EWA underwater plastic bag for the LX1. Don't really like it cos the control is a little difficult and u can't really adjust them once the camera is slotted into the housing. And if u're not careful, the 'hood' might get into your picture.

I wanted those 'over and under' shots showing both the scene above and underwater. This kind of shots really test your luck need u to shoot over and over again. I would prefer something like a DSLR where I can shoot serveral frames per second to have a better chance. The LX1 is really slow inbetween shots (about 7 seconds) giving u less chance of success.

But it protects the cam from water and pictures taken with it is fine.

hi Weekh, does this means LX1 has no continuous shooting equivalent? what's the shutter lag like? Thanks for sharing.
