Fantastic pics Keng Hor. Saw your post on photo.net too.

Am on the verge of getting LX-1. Alan Photo quoted $860 inclusive of gst. Cathay quoted me $890 at first, but agreed to reduce to $860 inclusive of gst, for cash/Nets. There is no additional SD card, except the free 32MB.

Anyone managed to get a better price recently.

I have checked prices around too and can confirm that is as good a price as it gets. Waiting to see if there will be any 1GB bundled in the near future.

Can wait for March IT show. Maybe there are some attractive bundle.

Because of Weekh, I joined this forum and bought an LX1. Inspiring images!

Here's one of my first ones

$860 with GST is about the right price. See if u can get addtional freebiees.
Remeber to get a fast SD card as it will make a tremendous difference in the wait time inbetween RAW shots.

Little is done to this image other than WB adjustment. As my cam is set to auto WB, Lx1 renders it at about 3000K which takes away the warm colour of the monring sun. So I bring it back to about 5000K.

Have just heard a few horror stories of the FX-8, 9 LCD crack.

Does anyone know if there is any possibiility or reports of the same happening to the LX-1. Sorry to throw dent all the good news about the FX-1 in this thread, would like to be on the cautious side before taking the plunge.

Keng Hor, what sort of speed SD card should i look at getting? Any brands to recommend?

I've a normal speed vs a 50X kingston SD card.
IMO, the 50X is acceptable for a digicam. But if I were to get one again, I would go for the fastest speed if no big diff in price.

Wow, i was also looking for a small cam when bringing my DSLR is difficult for family outings.

Looks like you put the LX1 in a very good position for me to buying it! ;p

Thanks for sharing your pic & experience with us, helps alot.

Oh one more thing, weekh you take very good pictures!

I have a few question about LX1.

How long does the movie mode can take on LX1?
in the movie mode we can choose also the image ratio that we want?
Which one looks better? black one or silver? :)

Span of movie limited only by the amount of available memory. You can choose the image ratio in the movie mode, but note the zoom has to be preset before recording, and cant be used during.

IMHO, if money is not an issue, get the Leica edition. Not only does it looks the best, but also easier to sell, in times of up-grading.

How much is the Ricoh GRD anyway and which shops in Singapore are selling it? The accessories are supposed to cost a bomb also right?

$999 equote from mscolour.

Just got myself the leica version and I guess there's no diff. between the two.
Just puzzling with the fact that the RAW file can be up to 16MB with the largest JPEG file max to 4MB...think about the amount of data missing between RAW and JPEG.:dunno:

I like the camera eventhough the noise @ ISO400 is very high.
Try to take photo in a low light....you will get noisy picture. I wonder if anyone experience the same.
The colors and sharpness are great.

ya...I think 16:9 rocks.

Convert it to DNG and your RAW file becomes half the original size at around 8MB.

Into the sun.....
