Hi weekh,

How long does it take to save one raw format to the SD card? Thanks

I've used a normal speed and a 50X SD card. The normal speed is obviously much slower - unacceptable.
The 50X took a couple of seconds before u can start shooting again.... Acceptable for a digicam but if u compare with a DSLR, there's much room for improvement.

Some shots taken during CNY....

High iso, F10 sure lose, as GR-D can shoot RAW. Plus, the F10 almost always choose f2.8 how to be sharp? The fujinon lens is no slouch, but you don't pay almost 1K for nothing. GR-D rocks too! I'll bet my last $. ;)

Compacts are known to be slightly noisier than DSLR. I think the F10 fair relatively well in terms of noise. However, I find that the noise is rather "patchy" especially when the chrome mode is on. It is definitely a good camera for its price. Raw in Ricoh? It takes more than 10 secs, around 15 secs to be precise to write a raw file. If I am shooting landscape, I can cope with it but if its candid shots, where you need the time between frames, I will think twice.

Reason why F10 fair well is probably more a good noise reduction algo than anything else. Dun know leah, I realise if I don't expose my shots properly, the noise can be quite bad, especially the under exposed areas. Tell you what, I buy you a F11, you give me your GR-D. Deal? :P

Eh... you nitpicking liow. Almost NO camera will give you nice shadows for pix not properly exposed.

Ok, next update for F12, RAW, Histogram, wider lens. ;p
In the meantime, your GR-D will do.

I'm using the LX1 so often that my 1Ds is now collecting dust. So I've just decided to put the 1Ds up for sale....
Wow.. You are really a Leica lens supporter. You even use Leica lens on your EOS-1Ds!

What is the body of this camera made of - plastic or metal or combination ?

any second hand LX1 around ?

Looks good for P&S...any off camera adjustments to the pics u posted?

The body feels solid but i don't know wat sort of material it is. And I think this is irrelevant when u have a huge LCD pannel. The LCD pannel is likely to be the first to break or crack under hard impact.

All shot in raw. Just some minor adjustment on exposure and WB. Never really bothered with noise reduction.
