he using telephoto and u using wide angles...

not tele.. she is using wide angles cos there are some wide shots.. but when she take photos of people, she like to come very close.. :sweatsm: imagine chopping off at the feet. if she just take one step back, my friend's nice red shoes will be show in the photos already :bsmilie:

after going through the photo again a few times, i realised the photographer like to take closeups, WITHOUT LEGS! none of the photos from morning till dinner has feets/shoe/ankles! group photos at the reception area are chopped off at the knees. family photos taken after tea ceremony has no feet for front row people sitted! not to mention numerous photos with elbows or hands chop off... horrible....

Some of the more elderly do not like to have their feet photographed, especially if they are not wearing any shoes which is like almost 100% in our context. But yeah, the photog should have clarified in the first place. Even if too lazy to ask, can always take some shots which include the feet to "test the market".

oh ya, he'll also be kinda stress... imagine CS ppl will probably be shooting along side with him... super stress... esp he dun deliver quality pics... kena critique until kisiao...

That will be a funny sight.... den later he throw his cam to the CSERS den scream "nah u all take i dun wanna be photographer anymore!"

HI Guys, I think it is the time that we stop cursing n swearing over the photographer as this will make bro dragco more angry & upsad. Is not the time to focus on problem too, lets recommend solution to dragco instead. bro dragco, i certainly understand how u feel espicially this is a once in a live time thing. u may perhaps look for some DI artist and hopefully they can assist to save you pics with some retouching.

Have you tried going back to the bridal studio to make noise? If they refuse to compensate, or do a re shoot, just make a scene there so others will be warned as well. Best is to go during weekends or when there are a lot of people.

How to re-shoot? I think he is not satisfy with the AD pictures.

Some AD will include outdoor mah. Or was it those taken during the tea ceremony & picking up of the bride? If it's those, then . Outdoor still can do re-shoot. Anyway, there should still be some kind of compensation given.

AD does not mean got outdoor...

but AD is documentation of the wedding day, no repeats.

...
Correct me if I'm wrong (those pros out there):
For RAW pics, not many photographers does that as it will require hell lots of memory cards. If you really required RAW, did you mention it to the Bridal shop on this request earlier?
...

I am not a wedding photographer but I shoot events for my church, and I will tell you that for any very important events, or when light is tricky, shooting RAW is the best, safest method, even if it takes up a lot of space.

I think weddings are more than very important events. They are a one-time thing that you are never going to get a reshoot at.

AD stands for Actual Day. It means whatever that goes on on the wedding day itself.

How to reshoot:
gatecrashing
tea ceremony
church service (sometimes)
wedding banquet

Have a whole wedding day again?

to all bros, thank u for your comfy msgs. really appreciate that. anyway its over and FOR SURE the bridal will be getting a good 'thrashing' from me. i m not going to let them off so easily for engaging such unprofessional service.

mine is a special case. my AD is from 3-11pm, all under 1 roof (i.e within the hotel, from receiving bride to tea ceremony to banquet n so on), no outdoor, indoor or watsoever. i paid $2K which includes:
- bridal n evening gown
- 2 suits for me
- 2 suits for the 2 fathers
- bride makeup on AD
- AD photography from 3-11pm.
(of cos i was shown the works etc. but if u r e bridal shop, would u show lousy pics? its all abt marketing ;( )

which i think it is quite above average market price, considering the fact that i do not need any print-outs etc. because i can do it into album at a later stage n it will b much cheaper. before signing, i already inform the bridal shop boss "i want the AD photographer to shoot in RAW + JPG and i will provide all necessary memory cards, DVDs to burn them into after the event. he don't even need to sort or post-process. to make it simple: shoot and burn all pictures into DVDs". he replied: "i dun thin there should be any problem. just speak to the photographer." so i think this is as clear n precise as to what i want for my AD liao.

anyway having say all, most will say "aiya its only 1-sided story, must listen to the photographer etc". i can tell u: forget it. IT (the photographer) has its own problems. IT cant speak well (always errr.... ah....., tongue tied etc). IT cannot say properly how to pose and speak damn soft.

I felt sorry for you. :(

Dragco, sad to hear your case...

However, base on your contract. Black and white is very good to both parties if either 1 bleaches. You can demand a discount from the shop or take to small claim court. You may also demand for more service without extra cost like extra studio shoot and printing for another shoot.

Put this thing over and carry on with our life...

thanks everyone. i just wanna vent out and it sure feels better now :) in fact, i will be going for a beer later this evening! :D

i will try to post some pictures for comparison tonight. as the saying goes: a picture is worth a thousand words.

btw, if there are any 'si-fus' out there who dont mind a FOC apprentice to help cover events, do leave me a PM. hahahaha

why not after yr beer and go for a shooting session.. see wat "effects" you took after drinking.

Felt sad for you. Nothing can bring back what is past. Even if the Bridal shop can re-enact the whole AD package for another photographer to shoot, the memories will be different. SO rather than let this sad case ruin your happy day, just look on the bright side that at least you still have a backup photographer who shot better photos.

Its still better than the case of the photographer who "lost" his gears and CF cards after the dinner becaiuse he was drunk. At least you still have photos to show to your relatives/friends and next time to your children.

Cheers and enjoy your honey moon.

If you consider the number of suits and gowns, $2k quite reasonable. You should have insisted to know who is the photographer, insisted to meet for a chat, look at portfolio and discuss.

Nothing much you can do liao, except kick up a fuss, demand some discount/compensation.

But whatever the fault of the photog, calling him IT is really uncalled for.

eh, this whole thread complaining about my photography for what?
