yes, that's other people wedding, not up to me or others to say anything.I still never understood why this whole community seems to scoff at people who don't want to pay or want to pay cheap for wedding photos.
It's their wedding, not yours. If they want to ruin it, let them.
haha sorry one more post to gktat1, everyone treasures their wedding, that is the reason no one wants to engage non-professional, but I am given that chance by a good friend, she trusted me even I got noooooo experience at all and she knows I like to take photos, so I am grateful and want to give others a chance too.
Again want to mention, for someone who really wants to prove his talents, he will work doubly hard than the professionals, by this, how can one not produce something of worth?
Also, I am not looking for free service, it is not to be seen as a service but rather as an experience.
I'm having my wedding end of next yr...
I'm keeping a lookout fer photographers even at this point of time.
I dun mind going on purpose to 'bump into gd photographers'
To mi, capturing the essence of my wedding is a commitment to my wedding itself.
And yes, i'm a freelance wedding photographer myself.
Followed a few professionals, from my POV...
They r reallie gd.
They constantly upgrade their photography skills by books, by practice...
So when u made ur statement, i feel sorry fer them.
Maybe u want leave mi ur contact,
i try to arrange a meet up fer u to view their portfolios...
to change ur views on these so called commercial photographers...
Thanks![]()

looking for free/cheap photographer, don't want to spend money on weddings... that's fine, for me, I'm cool with that, but for others, I'm not sure.
I'm not happy with his comment on his first post about professional photographers, as if he has hired all the professional photographers before.

William Hung springs to mind here.
A bit OT... I'm not siding Pros or freelance photographers.. Juz some frank thots...
Actually I think it's very common these days for couples to engage non-pros to be their main photographer. I've heard a handful doing so. In fact, I have 2 colleagues who have recently done so. One of them even paid only $500 for a 3-day job! I looked at the photos... and know what... I think they are very decently taken. Some are nice too.
At the end of the day, the couples should be satisfied. Some just don't want to invest so much for the actual day shoot.
Well call it the curse (for the pros) or blessing (for everyone into photography) of the digital age. Photography has never been easier. Think 20-30 years back. Beginners will freak out holding an SLR cam. These days, every think is so intelligent -- E-TTL, multi-point, accurate and fast AF, sophisticated metering, etc. Even newbies these days are talking about owning pro level L lenses.
Well it's really up to the couple to choose. Pros are always there to do their job. But they are facing a tougher time indeed and have to be work much harder to prove their worth.
I still never understood why this whole community seems to scoff at people who don't want to pay or want to pay cheap for wedding photos.

I am giving photography students to take up this opportunity, I understand they need an experience and the desire to do it well. For me I am not too keen on getting professional photographers because they charge very expensive and are sloppy in their work, for them its just another job. I would prefer individuals students who are just waiting to get their hands and turn on their creativity juice on a big event. Well events such as wedding does not require highly acquired photograph skills but planning and timing and lighting and creativity and a bit of human touch. So if anyone is interested, drop me an email.
Hi i am really keen on this as well...
Quite tired of conventional style of shooting wedding.
Hoping to try some really creative type of shots, i volunteer my own equipment as well (20D + 400f5.6L).
