CP do sell them...

i saw them during my last trip there

Looks really cool! I want the gorillapod for SLR!

do we have to use separate ball head on the gorilla pod? or wat is recommeded?;)

nothing else needed. it comes with everything needed so you just mount your camera on it directly.

So, does anyone actually know where to buy this in Spore?

It's stated in Post 2, Gorillapod is sold at CP. Cathay Photo, I think.
Wow, I want one too.

OP got sell..but i think that's a 3rd party one..

I saw them being sold at Harvey Normans outlets

i think there are 3 models: for compact camera, DSLR and DSLR w zoom len.

I bought the SLR-Zoom unit at CP for $98. Didn't see any other models there that time but noticed online that the tops are extended for compact and SLR ones, except the SLR-Zoom. Probably more flexible that way, though not as load-bearing as the SLR-Zoom that can support a heavier attached lens.

Another alternative is to get third-party ones that sell at much lower prices. :)

i agree.
Its the extended part for flexiblity or the heavy duty zoom pod tht cause me d'headache.
pods are meant for support, duno whter d'extended 'flexi'parts have enough support if in future,i invest better lens.

guess for newbie like myself, should go for d'basics/practicality. :embrass:

cheers,:sweatsm:

I saw one at Challenger (East Point) going for $29, dunno about the other branches.

Definitely not the original, but going for that price, I'm abit doubtful of its quality.

I bought the Challenger version at $29, I don't have a gorillapod so can't compare. It barely support my pentax k200d (heavy) with kit lens, and it also can't grip well on railings like what the picture shows..maybe i'm using it incorrectly.

But overall it is quite a useful, compact tripod to stuff into yr bags, and it attracts attention too.

Buy the Joby brand original at Cathay. SLR ZOOM is about 80++ . I bought it. Do note that SLR ZOOM does not come with the movable joint unlike the SLR version, thus its very hard to angle it without a ball head. My ball head is too heavy and bulky to use effectively with the gorilla pod, so thinking of getting a small cheapo ballhead for it.

To be honest, the best horilla pod is the small one used for PnS, that one is fantastic and supports well and is super useful. DSLR ones not so, since you can't use a battery grip (raises the CG and increases rotational force, so it falls easier).

The big tentacles don't grip as well as the small PnS ones, since they are harder to manipulate.

Cathay photo's website state d'price. Its 89 for d'DSLR Zoom, i gt my DSLR Zoom(not original joby's brand) @ $65/- @ alan photo in funan center, SLR you cn get it @ $45. Cathay photo sell d' 360 movable attachment for $75, if you wan to do d'swivelling. havnt really try my gorillapod yt..will check out tht PnS.

Anyone know if the Gorillapod Focus is in Singapore or not?
Better still any feedback on this version?

Focus is going to be an expensive tripod. US listed at $140 so it should be over S$200.
