that's really long bro. if it were that dark, why not remove your nd110 and go for 30s? that'll be enough to smoothen out the water if you ask me.![]()
I wanted to try capturing the colors of the sky as it transits from almost nothing to sunrise, battery ran out right before the sun came outwas supposed to hit around 20 minutes.
you have vertical distortion in that last picture, can be seen in the reflections.![]()

Was wondering how u determine the exposure length. Is there a formula?

For digital, its quite straight forward, for example if it's a 1/30 exposure, with a 10 stop filter it would become 30 seconds.
For film, you have to factor in the reciprocity failure of the film into the exposure timings. For most films, you have to factor in extended exposure timings after 1 second. For example, for a measured exposure of 30 seconds with Tri X 400, to get the correct exposure, you would need to expose the film for 210 seconds.
