i didnt dig it up. it just came up at the main page and i just clicked on it to view.Caspere said:Wow.. you have to dig up such an old thread?
Seriously, one should never be too serious about LOMOs or Holgas; they are just like our IS, VR, L, USM, etc. A tool for the time (whichever we may be in)
If you think its fun, join it.
If you have it, use it.
If you don't, fake it or ignore it.
If you are crazy over it, don't worry cos you get pass it.
If you are not amused by it, it's OK, they will get over it.
Whatever you have, enjoy it.
I loved and sold my Holga 120 more than 10 years back. Never fancied a LOMO and no worst for it. However, like many people, I certainly did enjoyed the images/ styles/ colors that mushroomed despite all its under/over exposures, real and faked "crappiness."
I believe that this "fashion" will recyle itself many times in different names.
Enjoy it.

well u have your views and i have my views. and lasty i do respect and agree on your views. but im still sticking to my point that i still see better pics taken using a lomo than members here with expensive and over rated gears.![]()
hahaha man!!! thats a really good one.Caspere said:I agree with you.
The Trinity lenses tested to its nth times, the thin B+W mulitcoated filters stacked hidden under the delicated ugly hoods, mounted on the well-reviewed pristine bodies all taped up with expensive tape. And the constant swam to MOs for the latest and the best, only to sell them away "New in box."
A disgusting display of affluence.
Still... as long as they are enjoying every second of it, to each his own!
nicely said!Stereobox said:LOMO is Leningradskoye Optiko Mechanichesckoye Obyedinenie. and as utilitarian as the manufacturer's name suggests, LOMOs are cameras meant to be used.
i see (and always will) 'LOMOgraphy' as a term coined in an elaborate commercial campaign to sell certain cameras as a lifestyle choice.
but i've come to accept, ultimately it's not a celebration of the user, but the using of.
as the CS saying go .. shootx3 !

They can produce some interesting effects, beyond control.
Some call it art.
IF someone were to achieve these effects from digital cameras, would it be called 'art' too? :bsmilie:
