Local Pentax Pricing for K5IIs (and cameras) - We need better

This is a very viable local option. Although weekend making a visit down will be more efficient than calling.

Most of us are for supporting local shops as long as price is reasonable. But I hear some distro will not be too pleased with retailers low selling price.

No mention of the ongoing cash rebate vouchers (which would still mean enforced expenditure of $200 at retailers)... Price quoted to me was straight up final price (cash payment).

take amazon as benchmark, k5iis is around USD950+. With the 7% GST and the shipment charges, it is almost cheaper now to buy from local, not to forget there is also local warranty.

i believe APD is working quite aggressive on mitigation the pricing (overseas and local). they just launch the latest rebate promotion for Q10, K30, K5ii/K5iis.

Is there any idea that the price before debate is what price? If the price before cash debate this time is the price that Ken mention above then it so too now for K5-IIs!

To clarify: the deal I found at TK Foto is final price (cash payment). I was quoted by other shops even after ongoing cash rebate still more expensive... I suppose they applied the rebate to the RRP.

Anyway, in response to some PM, I am NOT a staff of TK Foto. Just sharing a good deal I found in our local shops. And hopefully more local retailers and APD will toe-in with globally reasonable pricing.

Maybe soon prices will drop more. I have seen rumours online where Pentax may release something new in the coming weeks. They estimate first week of sep. I have no first hand info. just saw some stuff online.

To me, the reduced price of 645D and K5IIs hints at them being replacement models...

There have been rumours of the 645D replacement and a Full-Frame camera for quite some time. Whatever they release, it should be pretty interesting. With recent the price cut, the 645D costs <S$7800 in Japan, which is a pretty good deal.
