The prob with Rafa is he's too conservative... There's no last roll of the dice.. just simply give up. That's how we have 11 draws last season as we did not push hard enough, not taking risks. He seems to be making subs for the sake of doing it.
I don't know why he choose to sub Torres with 1/2 hr to go when Torres could prob score a goal with another 10mins of play. Sure, you want to preserve him for the next match against Lyon but we are in full control at that point and he just gives up the initiative. The commentators correctly pointed out that Fulham players just had a shot in the arm and played better after Torres was subbed.
As for the benayoun sub, again, it's one eye on Lyon otherwise Eccleston for Voronin makes much more sense. Also, i might sub Kuyt as well as he looks really tired (again, one of the players that Rafa played all the time without resting) and you see how he tried to keep ball in play and ended up we went behind. For Carra, he definitely lost his pace and sharpness this season. Zamora was not the quickest (if it's dempsey then i can safely say Carra has no chance) but still it pains me to see how carra struggles against Zamora.
I said before that i feel it's time for Rafa to go and i am one of his strongest supporters over the last 4-5 yrs and i truly believe he has to go.
I do feel that there's some fraction in the league that bands together and work against rafa. He's a foreign manager in charge of a big 4 team and not many will be happy abt it. I feel we need someone well respected to take charge and i think we already have that in Kenny Dalglish. I hope Kenny will step in and steady the ship and bring back the golden years.
