"When he opened his Liverpool account at the Emirates, Mane - both arms outstretched, his fingers pointing to Klopp - ran to his manager and jumped on his back. The celebration was a long time coming; the moments since serving as a reminder of why he sacrificed everything, weathering trying times in the process."

Providing an injury update on Adam Lallana, the boss said: “95% is good news. It will be close (for Southampton). Hopefully not too serious, we have to wait.”

Speaking about Coutinho’s links to Barcelona, Klopp said: “We have to create an atmopshere that nobody wants to leave.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says he expected a worse display from his side in their 0-0 Premier League draw with Southampton.. Klopp, however, was content with his players' application given the difficulty in preparing for a match at the end of an international break... "We had enough chances to win the game, particularly in the second half. The reaction in the second half was really good, the body language was better...

personally i wud played 4-4-2 with origi and sturridge upfront... this was due to coutinho and firmino unable to perform becos of jetlag and fatigue... anyway REDs performed well against organised team.. REDs cud win the game by 2goals...

he talks on gerrard recent retirement and he turned down manager job... klopp continues “I will give him all the help I can if he wants, that is 100 per cent sure, but stop talking here because it will not help Steven and it will not help me,” added Klopp, whose exasperation at being questioned on the same subject matter became clear."

“We won’t underestimate Sunderland, and if one other person in the stadium underestimates them it would be a mistake. Sunderland took six points from their last two games and we only got four, so if you like they are maybe the favourites for this game.”

Klopp had described Sunderland as “the most defensive team I have ever played against,” hailing his side’s ability to break down a solid Black Cats back line.

He also explained the importance of the atmosphere at Anfield, saying “it’s a big, big part of the game, a big part of the joy,” and that “it was easier to enjoy the challenge” with the Kop roaring his side on.

"It was the kind of panicked reaction that met even the slightest of injuries to Steven Gerrard for much of his 17-year spell with the club, such was his commanding influence in a series of average sides. But, in the week of the Anfield legend’s retirement from football, this Liverpool side proved the power of the team effort over the individual."

klopp say patience is the key to unlock stubborn defenses with reference to sunderland defeat... but with lallana and coutinho injured REDs is lack of ideas to win games and they have to win ugly if they must...

moyes responds to Klopp criticism and rightly parked double decker bus to prevent humiliation happened to watford.. southampton parked bus and earned a draw which i felt like losing a game bcos 2pts lost.. only burnley successfully parked bus against REDs and came out victorious beating REDs 2-0... they had 2strikes that ended back of the net...

next efl cup against leeds and monk will take cue of REDs victims to come out winners...

"Coutinho is a really good player, so if we cannot use him for the next few days or weeks each team in the world would feel it," he said. "But it is no excuse for anything. As good as he is, he does not decide games by himself, although it sometimes looks like this.
"It is a team performance and he is a very important part of this team, absolutely. Of course we can handle it. If he is not in you have to show - and we will show...

“I think Ben is mentally ready to start a game,” the Reds boss, “He’s a very, very promising player and we want to use him as early as possible,” said Klopp.
