Aquilani should be a good backup. Gerrard is getting old and injuries is creeping up on him these days. Meireles is blowing hot and cold. Reminds me of Luis Garcia. Liverpool doesn't have a lot of attacking midfielders to choose from. So I think it is better to keep Aquilani better then to offload him at bargain price.

I think aquilani can make it lah...he just didnt get enough games to prove himself after injury...hes not injured in serie A rite? sometimes we just have to change our mindset about certain things...i see him as an attacking minded player,creative...even though i agree hes abit fragile for epl...he needs to toughen up that aspect of his game...

maybe theres a clause in the contract when we sign him that we need to pay certain amount of appearance fee...maybe thats why he didnt play enough games with the thought of selling him but since there is no taker why not play him...:think:
