Braga didn't attack much, Liverpool just pump long balls and they sit back and played the offside game very well. They were tight and pressing on a nite where we just can't pass the ball, either pass to Braga or kana tackle:bheart:

I hate to say this, but Braga really played well. They don't need to attack, just need to be disciplines in defence, and boy did they do that well. Just like how we defended in 2005 en-route to the CL glory.
My main concern while watching the game, is that we are now pumping high balls up to Carroll. I close my eyes also can become commentator:
"Lucas, to Maxi, back to Skrtel, Skrtel wide to Carragher who looks up to find Carroll, and it's that diagonal ball again.....carroll wins the header but it's going straight to the goalkeeper"
The above scenerio happened countless times throughout the game. Ball pumped up from defence. I feel the crosses should come from the flank, but too bad we don't have a capable winger.
I hope to see us playing the fluid passing game instead of long ball pumping. Carroll height can be used during set plays, and we do not need to keep pumping long balls. If I am the defender for the day, I will be very happy, because I can already anticipate the next move by our team.
I would say our style of play made it easy for Braga to defend on the day.
Looking forward to an improved performance on Sunday.
BTW, Joe Cole is no longer the player he once was. He is really terrible. Hope he can buck up if he is given a chance again.
