Lets not get carried away

Well as everyone already knows we were pretty convincingly beaten tonight. The more cynical fan would be starting to look for a scapegoat but I myself felt we were simply outplayed. After looking at the fans comments after the match it seems that Lucas is receiving quite some criticism, but lets be honest name a Liverpool player who put in a good performance.
Yes we gave our usual hard working performance but there was not much technical quality shown by any of our players tonight. Also criticism which has come in for Milan Jovanovic is very unjust, not too long ago fans were raving on about his pace and work rate, so one bad game does not totally dismiss his qualities and potential to be a great Liverpool player.
I have been most disgusted by fans who have been blaming Roy Hodgson for the defeat. To start calling for Hodgsons head this early in the season is shocking. He set up the team absolutely fine in my opinion and although he may have made his substitutes quite late I honestly feel they wouldnt have made much of a difference to the final score. So if you call yourself a Liverpool fan and are already looking for Roy to be given the boot.
You must realise we are not Chelsea, once the going gets tough we do not drop our heads and ask for a new manager. we get behind the gaffer and show our support. This is the attitude that makes me proud to be a Liverpool fan and why I believe we our the best supported team in the world.
We must take into consideration that we have had two extremely difficult fixtures to open our Premier League account. We were unlucky to only receive a point against Arsenal and we were outplayed against City. The players are also rusty and not up to top form yet so I feel the best is yet to come.
Lets not forget that players are still getting used to Roys management style and tactics so I wouldnt be expecting top form this early in the season. The best thing we can do in this situation is forget about the result and move on to focusing on the match against Trabzonspor.

As usual... Liverpool started very defensively on difficult away games. In fact too cautious.
Ya 2 strikers were played... one still learning the ropes, the other, just abt match fit.
So what?
Instructions to Lucas and Gerrard is obviously to choke Man City midfield. Gerrard hardly move up. Lucas was always just in front of the back four. Torres and Ngog were duly denied the supply they needed up front.
City's defense tactic was simple. Wrap around Torres tight. They don't have to do too much with Ngog. Can't dribble, first touch is poor...
The moment Liverpool started to attack (shortly after City's second goal) you can see that Man City's defense aren't any better. They throw just about everybody back to defend. Throwing bodies in the line of shots... Joe Hart again was at his very best to deny Torres.
I really wonder if there is any Liverpool manager who is willingly to risk the more attacking tactics on away travel.
Sian liao lo now that Masch is completely unsettled. Keep him here but his mind not with us also no use... :bheart:

Trueness!! Who's criticising RH ha? let me know. I let Red Ants into their house later...:bsmilie:
I really hoped the fans or to be precise Kops Hardcore fans do not put too much hope with this team. New manager, new set of trainers... give them time. We've got to be supporting them now...not to be calling for RH's head to roll. Its too premature. Even rafa999 was given chances after chances after chances after chances... :bsmilie:
The team need to gel.
And for Masch... you better go laaa.. Your heart and soul is no longer with the team. no point wearing that Holy Red Jersey.
I am fully behind RH, has he even been on board for 6 weeks?
He had to undo a lot of what Rafa had done for 6 years...
