its easy for coffeeshop managers like us to criticise smaller players when the team not playing well...are we big enough to question the bigger boys like SG,FT & JC? Or even JM? Of all the big players in the team only reina performed this season...SG,FT,JM & JC...they all had a poor season...they are the reason for our poor league finishing...how many sitters FT missed this season? I'm sure the bigger players were saving their legs for the coming WC but the smaller players buckled up...pulled their sleeves and worked hard...pls give them credit for what they've done...:thumbsd: even a legend like Carra, wants to play in the WC after announcing his international retirement few yrs back...
Well coffee shop managers just buy coffee-ice and not players :) I decided to do a bit of research before burbling more... Rafa's LFC record actually is pretty impressive, (see and compare no of games won %) but sincerely 0-0 with Hull on the last day was far too much.... Lucas at times is a spy from MUFC, JM at times appears confused as to the purpose of being on the field - so they send him off - SG did the right thing and gave the ball to Drobja  As for the cowboys... ha ha

..... :embrass:

PRICE WILL STAY

Something to cheer up all LFC supporters.... From: Manchester United striker Michael Owen is confident he will be able to take a full part in pre-season training after recovering from his hamstring injury.

"It was a shame to get the injury at Wembley. I thought it was a minor thing at first but it was obviously worse than that.

"But overall I was delighted with my first season at United. I was fit for 43 of the first 44 games."

.... :)

BENITEZ FOR INTER?

Note the Mail's remark that Jose Mourinho is already considered to be Madrid's next manager. As a result, according to The Sun, 'Inter Milan have made contact with Rafa Benitez after finally accepting they may lose Jose Mourinho.'

To quote a little bit more:

'Benitez, who has also been courted by Juventus, plans to hold more talks over his future at Anfield amid growing speculation they will part company following the Kop's worst season since 1999.

'Inter previously rubbished reports they have approached Benitez - or anyone else. But SunSport now understands there now have been preparatory talks with the Spaniard.'

ok, this is from Sun. there's little truth in it. but still, if it happens, it'll be fantastic!

TRANSFER NEWS
Agent: Roma interested in Yossi Benayoun

By Soccernet staff

May 15, 2010

Yossi Benayoun is attracting interest from Serie A title challengers Roma, but his agent believes the midfielder will be remaining at Liverpool this summer.

Benayoun was one of the better performers in a disappointing season for Liverpool and on Saturday he was even linked with a surprise move to Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Roma are also known to be keen on the 30-year-old, but his agent has heard nothing official from the Italian club and does not expect his client to leave Anfield.

"We have not been contacted by Roma," Katzav told forzaromainfo. "We know about an interest from Roma, and there has been plenty of talk about this.

"But we have not had any contact with the directors. Roma would be nice but my client has a contract with Liverpool and he is fine in England.

"Nobody from the Reds has told me that Yossi is on the market, so I couldn't say how much his value is. For now, the future of Benayoun is at Liverpool. If new scenarios open we'll see in the summer."

sian. youssi is definitely one of the bright spark in a dull season. :( if he leave then sibeh sian liao.

Ex-Liverpool FC striker Besian Idrizaj dies of a heart attack

Liverpool are mourning the loss of former striker Besian Idrizaj, who died of a heart attack this morning.

The 22-year-old spent three years at Anfield after signing from LASK Linz in the summer of 2005 but failed to make a senior appearance for the Reds and joined German side FC Eilenburg, following loan spells with Luton Town, Crystal Palace and Wacker Innsbruck.

Reports in the attacker's native Austria claim that he died in the early hours of Saturday morning at the family home.

Hailed as one of his nation's most promising players, Idrizaj arrived on Merseyside on the back of a glittering U17 European Championships in 2004 but a series of health problems led him to collapse on a number of occasions and restricted his short-lived career.

Following his move to Innsbruck, he moved to Blackburn Rovers before making just three appearances for Championship outfit Swansea City last season.

Whilst he never made a lasting impression on Kopites, some supporters will have fond memories of his 23-minute hattrick in a pre-season friendly against Wrexham in July 2007.

No one from Liverpool Football Club was available for comment at time of going to press
