Juventus tell Rafael Benitez he must quit Liverpool by next Friday to become their coach - report

Juventus have given Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez an
ultimatum if he wants to become their new coach, according to a report from The Daily Mirror.

The Italian giants have apparently informed the Reds' gaffer that he must confirm he is to leave Anfield by next Friday if he is to be considered for the Juve hot seat.

The Serie A side are believed to have been courting the Spaniard since at least Christmas, although his agent has denied recent reports that he met Juve president Jean-Claude Blanc to discuss the position in recent days.

Benitez has consistently refused to rule himself out of the runing for the job but has also made no form commitments as he looks to consolidate his position on Merseyside.

Although a disappointing season has weakened the Spaniard's grip on his job at Anfield, he would still appear to want to keep his options open.

But that might not be enough for Juve, who are also believed to be interested in Brazil coach Dunga and Cagliari head coach Massimiliano Allegri as potential candidates for the position.

LFC remembers the 96

21 years ago over 20,000 Liverpool fans went to watch their beloved Reds play in the 1989 FA Cup semi-final. 96 never returned home.

On Thursday, Liverpool Football Club and its supporters will be paying their respects and remembering each of those who lost their lives in Sheffield.

A memorial service will take place at Anfield from 2.45pm and fans who wish to attend can collect a ticket from the ticket office window at the stadium ahead of the service.

For those supporters not able to attend in person, the service will be shown live and in full both on LFC TV (SKY channel 434) and online on Liverpoolfc.tv. Our coverage begins at 2.30pm.

As well as the service, LFC TV will be offering a day full of themed Hillsborough content as we remember and pay tribute to those who died on that fateful day. All of our coverage on April 15 - both online and on LFC TV on SKY - will be free.

if he goes, he goes, and we have to wait at least another 3 yrs for the new fella to build his squad in order to get #19..
but if he really wants to go, i wun be joining the "stay xabi stay" histrionics..

but would still encourage ppl to go over catch a match, it beats tv any day!
on a more optimistic note, it'll be a while b4 new stadium comes, so u got time on your side to save up..
