Ok now our spainish players wish to draw Real and get some revenge 1st. :bsmilie:
Alvaro Arbeloa has declared that he would like Liverpool to draw Real Madrid in the first knockout phase of the Champions League after the Reds qualified on Tuesday evening.
The Reds full-back has no doubts about the side that he wants to face in the next round, while Fernando Torres is expecting a tough encounter with whoever they meet.
Having finished second behind Porto in Group A, Liverpool can only face a side from Italy or Spain and Arbeloa is keen to test the Merseyside team's mettle against the reigning Spanish champions.
"I hope that we draw Real Madrid, that would be a great tie," he told Spanish news agency EFE. "We have a chance to play a team from Spain or Italy, but playing Madrid would be really good.
"It would be better to play a Spanish side than an Italian one, although it would not be bad to meet Milan and gain some revenge for the final last season."
For Torres, the fact that Liverpool must face a Serie A outfit or a team from la Primera is enough of a challenge and he recognised that it will be tough either way.
"It can be a Spanish or Italian team. All the teams are strong and to finish second is not the best," he explained.
"But it is all the same really, as we know that the level will be very high.
"Sevilla in the Champions League have been strong and Madrid and Barcelona are teams that aspire to winning the whole competition."
Torres then revealed that the Reds were surprised with the incredible start that they made to the crucial group encounter with Marseille on Tuesday evening.
"The game started at a very quick pace. It was not what we epected in the first ten minutes. The key to winning was to be able to play calmly and that is what happened," he continued.
"With Stevie's (Gerrard) and my goal after only 11 minutes they knew it was very difficult to come back.
"I am very happy with my goal. I think things are going very well for me and this goal has helped the team qualify and now we are in the next round."
