IMO Stevie should leave, as pool will get a huge amount of money which I think they will need since Thaksin's investment is as good as dead now.

Moreover, we must not forget that no matter how good one player is, the team cannot revolve around that player alone.

I think that if in the worst case scenario that Gerrard wants to leave then either Pool raise their selling price higher or get some key players in like duff as a part-exchange.

Anyways, no use fretting over that now. Wait and see. In the meanwhile enjoy the rest of Euro 2004. ;)

How can you wish stevie would leave just so that we can get income out of it? He is our best player. I mean if he wants to leave, there is nothing we can do about it, but if Liverpool wants to sell him to gain extra cash, its unthinkable. Furthermore, liverpool is not in dire need of cash.

I still do not believe anyone would wish for stevie to leave.. Unless you feel he has no future in liverpool and that liverpool suffers from a total lack of ambition.

I agree with you that a team is not built around one player...but it sure helps if a team is built around good players...no?

Of course I totally agree with you that they should not sell our best player to raise funds. What I am saying is that if they really cannot keep him and if he wants to leave (which i don't blame him for), they should get the best deal out of him. Correct?

hehe..okie..
like rooney....no 50 million pounds, no talk. ;)

has gerrard left for chelsea?

any news on it? i thought i read an article on it, saying that he has left for Chelsea for a reported 30million pound deal from the straits time... or was i wrong?

can anyone confirm this?

i can't imagine Liverpool without him...

he wun leave lah... there's only money in chelsea, no tradition, no great fans... if win title, pple say of cos lah, so much money. if he stays in pool and wins the title, become legend for sure. i think he'll stay and be a legend than be a bit (?) more rich, and just be part of a team.
but if he leaves, and owen leaves, i think i support Tampines Rovers liao...

btw, today Newpaper listed the most wanted players so far in Euro... Liverpool is the only team with 2 players    Gerrard and Baros ;)

for any confirmed Liverpool news, u can refer to http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/

for rumours....it is everywhere....

Although nothing is confirmed...the way the rumours is spread..it is very "scary"...

From the reports i have read, personally he wants to be in Liverpool for one more season to see how things are under Benitez, but apparently the Board want to cash in now while he's hot!

And I believe that even Gerrard leaves, no hope liao....how can u let go the best player ?? And Owen will not sign to extend to contract. The Board will have no choice and sell him as well to cash in...

Moore and Parry are gonna ruin LFC if they do that!

All is not that bad ..... we still have Baros ...

After watching euro 2004, I beginning to wonder if Owen is really a striker...
If owen is to be sold .... he should replace with someone of Ronaldino's quality with that kind of money.

But I definitely have no doubts about Gerrad's quality....

Liverpool is going to make a major announcement at 3pm GMT.
Hope there isn't any bad news! *keep fingers cross*

Gerrard pledges future to Liverpool

Liverpool today revealed that England midfielder Steven Gerrard is to stay at Anfield.
Gerrard had been linked with a £30million move to Chelsea and only last week Stamford Bridge chief executive Peter Kenyon admitted his club would like to sign the Anfield skipper if he became available.

The 24-year-old was the powerhouse behind Liverpool last season.

The arrival of new coach Raphael Benitez from Valencia appears to have convinced Gerrard that Liverpool can once again challenge for the game's top honours.

Singapore Press Plans to Buy Liverpool Stake, Bangkok Post Says
2004-06-28 21:09 (New York)

By Arijit Ghosh
June 29 (Bloomberg) -- Singapore Press Holdings Ltd.
plans to invest in Liverpool Football Club along with a group of
Thais led by Paiboon Damrongchaitham, chairman of GMM Grammy Pcl,
the Bangkok Post reported, citing Paiboon.
An unidentified Chinese company also plans to join the Thai
investors in buying a stake in the British football club, the
report said. Singapore Press is the island-state's biggest
newspaper publisher. Paiboon owns 53 percent of Grammy, Thailand
biggest recording company.
The group plans to pay about 4.3 billion baht
($105 million) to buy 30 percent of the club. Liverpool will
use the money to woo players from rival teams and improve
the side's performance, Paiboon said in statement last week.
Thai businessmen took over their government's bid
this month after Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra couldn't
find a way to fund the purchase. Thaksin, who faces an election
in January, decided to scrap plans for a lottery to pay for the
shares after he was criticized by opposition politicians for
using public money to invest in a European football team.

SPH?!?!

is the Government involved???

But i saw The Straits Time today that he did not stay willing, he is like more or less forced to stay as his family received some death threat and also pressure from relative who is a Liverpool supportor.

Gerrard staying, so too is Owen...
would Baros be convinced to stay?
anyone with news on Rafael's stand on Baros?
is Rafael goin to off-load him to Real Madrid? :(
