here's another picture taken some time back, last year actually, infront of my flat in Punggol

Hi eikin,

Very nice catch of the lightning.
Thanks for sharing.

I like the clouds ,YQ!

Whoa... nice one! love the steamroller thingy in the foreground ... and the lightning is awesome!

How do you time the shot anyways?

thanks guys :)

Duskt: setup with tripod and shoot in 30sec frames ... just hope the right one strikes at the right time :bsmilie:

Woah...good lighting...and I like the way you lid up the foreground as well.....you are very brave to stay so long out there with lighting

the only thing i don't like about the pic is the tilted buildings. otherwise,

Cool.... thanks for the explanation.... so umm how long did you spend out there? ; p

Cause I live around Punggol ... thinking of trying that lol

Big Kahuna: of course i stay at a safe distance away, the rain clouds haven't approached when the shot was taken ... but i went home after this shot :bsmilie:

+evenstar: thanks, the tilt is inherent from the wide angle perspectival distortion, wasn't bothered about it, just made sure it wasn't overdone

Duskt: some 20min i guess, need some luck, so good luck to your try ;)

NICE SHOT! I tried getting some lightning shots in a couple weeks ago...mine didn't turn out nearly as well as the one above!

well balanced composition..

Hi,
Nice shot! I like the colour of your cloud.. :)

Have a nice day.

Not interesting at all, just a record-image. What do you want to tell? This picture don't work for me.

Wow ... interesting.

Thought of catching lightings too. Too bad I don't know when and where it would strike.

Thanks for sharing. :)

oops you just reminded me ... i think the image was processed with 2 different white balances as it was shot in RAW format ... forgot which 2 though! paiseh

i guess there's some advantages shooting around Punggol, it's less built up, so storms approaching from Johor (like this one) can be easily seen and 'paced' ... just take safety precautions not to get too near to the storm

I love the way you framed the shot. There's lots of interesting elements to make this one photo worthy. The machinery on the right complements the flats pretty well and the lightning is an added bonus to the already interesting composition. Cheers!

Something different from the typical lightning shots. This one look like some storm chaser photog.

I like how you included the steamroller in the foreground. :)
