Light Leaks

can someone help me on how do u check for light leaks on a film camera?

I just developed a film on my nikon em and 12 of the frames have light leaks from the top to bottom? Ive been trying to goggle light leaks even with the word 'film slr' in google but most of the info is about 5dmk3.

Would changing the light seals suffice?

Yup, just go to art friend to get some felt with double sided tape back. Remove and clean the old light seals and clean with alcohol/lighter fluid and apply the new ones. Be careful not to let the bits of old light seal materials get into your shutter of focusing screen or you'll have a hard time cleaning, I usually use masking tape to cover them.

Yup, I'd use isopropyl alcohol if I have too but I don't... Lighter fluid works well enough for me, but I still hate this dirty job

We can see that you're using a pair of metal tweezer, better get the wooden or plastic tweezers. It's cheaper and safer to use.
But if you want the cheapest, you can also use a sharpened chopsticks to scrape off the old rubber seals

Actually I use toothpicks to remove the old seals, I used the tweezers to help push the new seals into the slots.

I bought a FED 2, hope I can learn how to work on it myself
