Rafa had asked Gerrard to sign for an extension contract 3times last year. But Gerrard preferred to wait.
Then now Rick Parry / LFC management delayed a bit on the contract negotiations...and Gerrard feel piss off.
Rafa also had issued a statement to the public that he wants Gerrard to stay .
Now...I really feel that something fishy is going on.
And I also read from Reuters that CHelsea had made a bid of 32m for Gerrard...and rise to 35m based on some certain performance.
And some good news - Spanish club contacted for Josemi (thanks god).
and Antonio Baragan is a RB, in to replace the outgoing Josemi.
I think we will announce for 2-3 signings...may be 1 a striker and a defender as well..
and Of coruse...da best is that gerrard sign an extension contract for 4 years.
That Liverpool will keep him for another 6 years.

actually, personally i feel that the departure of Stevie G will haf a big impact on Liverpool's performance this season.
he's a real leader and motivator. losing him will be very hard to take. perhaps with his departure, our plan to take over the world will be hard-hit and set us back to the drawing board again. he's gotta be an integral part of LFC, don't u think so?
i can understand losing Morientes, Garcia, Baros etc.etc. but not Jamie Carragher, Hyypia, Stevie G, Riise... they are like the backbone of the team having been around for a long time. perhaps Du the Dudek can qualify along that line too provided he's not that erratic!

Again..I emphasize that...there are many good players around. but they are not many good captain around.
Even though there are some good captain around...there is not any who could lead the Liverpool team like what Gerrard did.
Never heard of "thousand soldier easy tog et, but a good general is hard to find".
As many people wonder why Lampard did a good job but lose the award to Terry. Terry is a good player and captain..whereas Lampard is a good player.
I personally rated Gerrard as The Very Special.

we are the big club...even if we are not able to attract the world class player to play for us...we should at least try our best to keep the best player.
I can;t to see alonso+gerrard partnership...and (hopefully) the on firs Cisse and Morientes to play for us next season.
