erm.. me thinks both teams played a boring game. just that bolton scored when the chance were handed to them on those to occassions.

as for the linesman...... it was disgusting!! i hope pool lodge a formal complain of the bad decision.

Did it occur to you that Lpool didnt play well at all?

agreed they didnt play well

are we watching the same game?

i think the boys played ok!

jus that simply couldn't get back into the game.

poor is poor. we cannot always expect things must go our way. winners win no matter what. only losers blame linesman, referee, wind direction the direction of the magnetic poles....
we weren't good enough and frankly we didn't look too good all season since the charity shield. good individually? sure. Good as a team, rarely and only in patches. no guts and determination. no teamwork. no organisation. the games against spurs and newcastle flattered us but remember also that we had a few lucky breaks. today luck didn't give us any breaks and we didn't want it enough or simple weren't good enough to make our own luck.

we always struggled against teams with nothing to lose. teams with guts and determination. why? simply, we lack ideas to break them down. If our defence cannot keep a clean sheet, we're goners. this is surely the training staff's job? the team lacks understanding and creativity. when a throughball is played, even the strikers often look surprised and their first touch often poor. did they not work things out in training? don't they play passing patterns and work out potential moves? Don't we practice how to defend? how to move and who covers where? what each player does when the opponent has the ball?

I've been ranting all season so far. Sorry. Don't want to. But it makes me sick to see how we throw the games away everytime.

C'mon Reds. Still behind you 100% but it's time the team shows they want to win.

did u watch the game against the trotters?

the boys played well. created chances, moved well, then the error from the linesman.
bolton simply threw everyone back and somehow hit us with an ivan campo goal tat totally killed the spirit.

even though we're 2goals down, i still think the boys moved well. attack well. jus couldn't score and get the final ball in.

i'm pretty satisfied with the performance. i expected a tough fight from Bolton and even expected a defeat at their hands.

it still is, 2 chance 2 goals and 1 chance is a gift from the blind linesman. we jus need to work on the concentration aspect of the game. simply lose focus when we're 2 goals down with some 40mins to go.

can feel that the team is trying hard, but the defence is really...

reina is quite poor today.

they looked okay. but is okay okay? it's liverpool! we never looked like we could get back. the whole team just lost heart when we went behind. we had shots but how many clear chances? we must win this kind of games. don't even say winning the EPL. If we want to finish in a CL spot, we need more guts and self-belief. just cannot afford to roll over and die and say we tried but couldn't find our way back.....
And we again allowed a player space to cross and allowed a headed goal! what did we learn in midweek? nothing?

agreed lor. i think with we could probably have won at least 1/2 the games we played if we played the way we played in the first half. but then, if just felt that we lost the plot the moment things didn't go according to plan. it's 90 minutes. how often did we look comfy the whole 90? playing well for 45 isn't enough. did they try? sure they did. but i just felt that we lacked a spark. and i feel the understanding in the final third still lacking. like you said, the final ball. thats the only one that matters at the end. and we fail there everytime. if you trip at the last 10meter of a 100m race, does it matter how well you ran ealier?that's just me lah. maybe too high standard. expecting more than that from the lads. and it irks me cos we conceed such soft goals so often.
just pissed so maybe harsher than i should be. you should hear the cursing at the coffee shop :(

i din't think we played badly. i still hold tat view. of cos other fans of some other clubs can always come in and rub it in... jus remember, the ball is round, ur precious team might get a kick.

back to the game...
some of the movement is fine and good. jus tat the end product isn't there.
against a side like bolton, which i consider as a good team alongside everlose and villa, a draw is as good a victory won for me.

we were on top of the game when the trotter hit us back with a goal from campo.
i felt tat reina was not on top of his game at all. finnan is always goin to lose to campo and carragher and hyypia were too stretched. not a good sight.

next game will be better. it better be.

it is upsetting to lose games this way when the opposition gets a huge lift from the error of an individual who could dictate the flow of the game. :thumbsd:

but it is even more upsetting when the opposition gets 2 chances and they convert them all in! classic Championship Manager stuff. :thumbsd:

the boys haf to dig in and build on their spirit. can see that they're trying but we need results as well!

but i'm pretty much satisfied by the performance. although we lost 2-0, i thought we controlled the game unlike the game against galatasaray where we simply were over-runned by the turks.

funny you said that. I was thinking also about Football manager/ Championship manager. 20 shots on target and my keeper would fumble the first show the computer has on goal...goal!!!
We did look alright if you look at 75% of the pitch. but the final third..rant rant rant. the game is won on the final thrid. and the game is lost on the opposite third. and we screw up both sides....
I know we'll get it right soon like we did last season. but i worry about how many can we afford to drop and still finish at least 4th. with the stadium and the need to sign players, we cannot affrod to be out of the CL.
More belief and more creativity. need that and need that soon.
Btw, when was the last time we scored from a set-piece play? not direct shots but from set-plays from corners or free kick? i feel that we are giving away these opportunities. our set pieces just involve someone whacking it in and then our players in the box seem to be as much in the dark about the taker's target area as the opposite defenders. surely by now rafa would learn that set pieces are a big part of the english game? especially with hyypia, kuyt and crouch? why then are the delivery so poor and the set-plays so uncreative and predictable?

i wish. will kiss the ground i stand on till my lips are green from the grass stains.

same here.

when i die, i will make sure my grandchildren scatter my ashes in Anfield.

hopefully it is still around by then...

You'll Never Walk Alone!

next game. let's pack up our feelings.

Com'on You Reds!

strictly no kopi before a REDS game. :bsmilie:

so, the weight is now off. the EPL title is out again.

lost 3 games thus far, all away. outstanding. at least we r unbeaten at home and yet to throw points at home... if that's any consolation.

the boys better wake up their idea.

had 2 cups of kopi. maybe that's why i was so worked up yesterday nite..........

well, anything can still happen. but first thing is to get the house in order. it seems to me that there's a lack of confidence. we go out, play well in the beginning and then rolled over when things don't go right. whatever you feel about man utd, the old man utd had the kind of spirit i wished to see yesterday. if behind, they go nuts, turn their game up a notch and try and try and try. i was pissed becos you could see the team deflate after the first and they didn't really believe. and i still believe we didn't play well overall. becos we came with a game plan (i hope), bolton had a game plan (close all doors, defend like hell and counter). bolton won. it's not about possession or shots. we didn't score. couldn't even get one goal.

i think rafa needs to look at motivation. he got the team playing more and more like a well oiled machine. but in terms of inspiration, never-say-die attitute and sharpness, it's very much a mental thing. usually, that bit of drive, that extra awareness governs how well you do in a crunch. we always fail exactly at the final hurdle, either in the final attacking third or to keep our organisation in our own box. maybe he seems to be too quiet to be a motivator, but he can always bring someone who can. maybe it's language. there are so many foreigners. and you know that a rousing speech in a second language, no matter how well you do it, has much less impact.

The easy way, bring in Razor Ruddock and let him bash a few heads!

is it me or liverpoofc.tv is down? wanted to see what comments they have cos yesterday was too pissed to go there and see the usual excuses. but cannot load leh :dunno:

Rafa should just play people on positions which they are best at....what is Stevie G doing on the left?!?!?

pennant shud be dropped.

stevie G on right or center. stevie G is really incisive playing on the right.

gonzalez or garcia or aurelio on the left. i think it has more balance this way.
