I wont say we play badly but we certainly did not play "well". Liverpool is playing like a team getting to know each other. Rafa is not helping by playing different team/position every game. Rem Tinkerman?

The only consistent performers so far are Riise, Finnan, Sissoko and Kuyt. Gerrard and Alonso is still far from their usual self. Carra and Hyypia is not dominating at all now as well. Reina is making too many mistakes these days. The new players are not settled as well.

We need to be able to play with a fixed 1st 11 each game and introduce some of the new players when inuries/fatigue sets in and not randomly.

I also think that Gerrard shd play in Mid or worse case on Right but not Left Mid. In away match, play gerrard on right, home game, drop sissoko, play pennant on right. Left mid, play Riise or Zenden

paul robinson did so well in the 1st half. 2nd half... erm... i still hold onto the belief that England's BEST GK is CHRIS KIRKLAND. he's coming back to form and fitness.

What to do? Back to same pattern
High expectations but somehow failed to deliver so far. We can say we were unlucky with injuries but we should have enough players to win this still. Did we try hard? Sure! But the team is showing itself to be mentally weak. Fall behind, fall apart. And again, we lack inspiration; possession and half chances is not enough to always come out on top and with poor composure in front of goal when we do have a few openings......
We didn't want to win enough, we didn't believe enough and sadly, perhaps we just are not yet good enough.
Defence....dunno what to say.........the goal never should have happened. could have conceeded more............
Well, to all Liverpool FC fans, You'll never walk alone. Our heads may be down, but we'll keep on walking cos we've been doing that for years and years. The good thing is that it's still early and hope still exist.

On a plus side, really chuffed that Bellamy scored. C'mon man, I know you have many more to contribute. And we sure need the goals.

Cheer up cheesie. I still believe the team is a better one than last year. Is this our year? Probably not good enough yet. But I do expect to see improvements as the season goes by. Priority is to make the Champions League so I hope we stop dropping too many points though.

my head is so low, i can smell my feet. Stevie still tries hard. actually, it's good if he has a few off days. we depended too much on him last season. I am still waiting to see an LFC team that's more than Stevie G + 10..........
He'll be back. he had a long season and the world cup and qualifiers some more.

Betcha rafa wishes he has didi now though. hope momo gets back soon. and agger.

play 2 league games then the player go off to play international...where got time to gel?
we are the only team with the biggest change in personnel. we didn't buy 1 or 2 players to improve the team...we have like 6-7 new players who are capable of playing in the first team.
cannot expect them to gel immediately. sigh

actually one thing also worries me. you notice our reserves and u-18s have been losing like heck this season? is it the players? or is it the coaching? either way it's bad...........

read the rest of his post. he means cos we have more newbies than the other teams so it affects us more. with the WC and now qualifiers, they don't really have much time to get used to each other and neither does rafa have much time to work with them.
anyway, that's probably one reason but i think the problem is a many headed hydra. hope the coaching staff and the team can cope.

Lets not panic YET. We are behaving as if it is the last few games of the season left. I am as frustrated as the manager and the rest of the fans but lets just keep our cool. I am very very sure things will turn out better.

Once the form returns and the players get to know each other style, the opposition will have no chance. Blackburn seems to have more energy and drive than us but it is due to the fact that it is early in the season.

But once mid season kicks in, they will run slower, tackle softer and shoot lousier. I am very sure of that. Rafa is right about players unable to play 60-65 games per season. No player can play such a number of games and give 100% of the time.

The problem now is GEL. Once all the players get used to each other style, results will come in. I am very sure of it. So stay cool fans! Come Dec, things will turn for the better!
