i only like his height n long leg. good for tackle. lol

traore never really convinced me so far. hope he prove me wrong but i always doubt his reliability for a full 90min. He tends to make mistakes sometimes, due to loss of concentration. And he doesn't add much to the attack either.

i think alves can play as right winger also. probably rafa trying to have players who can ply the wing and attack as well as defend. like riise on the left.

Still, would like to see more concrete news on a new right winger and a striker. rumours about pennant. nice, but would prefer simao. he seems to have a good eye for goals as well. but dunno how much money we have to play with. Franck Ribery looks an interesting signing too but not heard anything about liverpool interested in him.

was hopeful that moro's move to valencia would be followed by david villa's to liverpool, but i doubt valencia would let thier top scorer go. Kuyt? Again, nothing concrete, only rumours. I would actually think that a pairing of ashton and andy johnson could be a dangerous one. but unlikely, especially for hammers to allow ashton to leave. I like Crouchie but i hope rafa can work on him in the pre-season. He needs to be more aggressive and also be more confident. to me, he seems a little nervy in front of goal and tends to play it too safe by hitting it on target but far too softly to have an effect. Improving his confidence and technique for shooting and heading is a must for him to become a real goal-scorer and not just a hardworking scraper up front.

Cisse mentioned that he will be leaving to the press. Don't think he will be staying at anfield next season.. Now that nando is also gone, we only have beanpole Crouchie and aging Fowler. Fancy Sinama returning? I do not think Owen will be returning.. think he owes the toon army much. Dont think rafa will break the bank to get a new striker. I personally would love to see Shevchenko come.. :bsmilie:.

Finnan is aging as well, definitely need a backup. Right now, there isnt a decent guy who can back Finnan up, so that is a priority as well. Someone in the mould of Scot Parker would be necessary to replace Hamann. Central defence is covered as we have Agger and this new Argentinian coming.

Left back.. i do not think riise or warnock or traore is good enough. They do the bare minimum which is not enough if liverpool were to be challenging chelsea.

How much money do we have again? ;p

Some news from soccernet:

"Anthony Le Tallec wants Paris St Germain to end his Liverpool nightmare after admitting he is 'fed up' of being shipped out on loan by the Anfield club."

those unhappy just leave lar. Arghh. Hope Rafa can bring players that are even better

:bsmilie: ;p unhappy then go lor... cisse seems most pissed.
wahahahhaa

Hello fellow LFC Reds Haven't been to this forum for a while; surprised (and pleased) to find a thread for fellow Reds here. :Clap clap:

Off-season (and silly season) is here again, so let's brace ourselves for lots of insane rumours. :D Anyway, if anyone's interested, I've done some match reports in the past (03/04 and 04/05 seasons), which I hope you'll find an interesting read while waiting for the new season (well, okay, besides the World Cup). Going through them, you can't help but marvel at the work Rafa's done so far in transforming us. Too bad I lost my old report(s) on Valencia (under Rafa/Hector) versus 'Pool. :(

Anyway, they're called the "LFC Through the Square Box" series, 'cos that's how we catch our Reds here aye? If anyone here used to visit LFCOnline a couple of years ago, or currently visits Bootroom.org - you might find them familiar. You can read them at: http://www.wookup.com/forum (I kept all my reports in a forum I share with some kopi kakis, so don't worry, this isn't a blatant forum advert).

I haven't been doing any reports for about 1+ seasons now, but hopefully, I'll find the energy to do them again soon. Hope you'll enjoy them, or that you can give me pointers on how to improve the reports. Cheers! :D

yeah LIverpoolllll!!!! Cant wait for the new season ;)
