Honestly not sure why he sucked so badly playing for newcastle... He was once a no.1 target for Houllier ard the treple season but i think he broke his neck or something and ended sign with Ranger and then Souness sign him... With a partnership of Boumsong and Bramble.. Newcastle is gonna suffer. I rem a match where the commentator says that teams are just waiting for a mistake by these 2 and they duly provide, time and time again.

Back to Liverpool, interesting to see Rafa play 5-3-2 but it works a treat. Also, we get to rest some players like Alonso etc. We have played well these 2 matches and hopefully will play well against birmingham and get to FA semis. Long live Liverpool!

Hmm.........some players just cannot perform at certain clubs. Its like that. I'm sure you seen many examples of good players not performing to their level.

As for formation, i not sure. Its the tactics that won yesterday. Pressured Newcastle when they in possession and no chance to play. Their not so bright Def got no chance or skill but to hoof the ball towards their SC, bypassing their strong att mid. 4-4-2 also can win.

Chelsea lost to Fulham! Yay! :bsmilie:

anyway, as we were discussing...

the formation Benitez used was effective and strangled Newcastle's midfield. they can't get their passing going around.

scott parker was impressive, at times. he seems like a very good player to add to the team.

all in all, it was a good formation and the experiment paid off.

exciting to watch Newcastle defend. hahaha
boumsong and bramble as the defence anchor... hahahahahaha:bsmilie:

Can you believe we actually swap Josemi for Kromkamp? It is an unbelieavable piece of business.

yeah, it's a steal... Kromkamp was actually warned by Van Basten that he may lose his place in the Dutch squad if he joins Liverpool as he's not likely to be 1st choice. But to hell with it, it's Liverpool! he said! LOL

Agger is also very good, very composed. I think we have found a successor to Hyypia. I reckon, by next season, Agger will be starting and Hyypia will be on bench.

What! Noooooooo I would play Traore instead

Think one reason Rafa's formation worked cos Agger showed that he looked confortable carrying the ball forward. Luved Agger's run that led to the Stevies goal. Haven seen a centerback do that for a long time.

Sleep early guys, tonite's another long nite.

He reminded me of Hansen in the 80s. Confidence not only in breaking off the oppositions' attacks but actually carrying the ball upfield and feeding the forwards with precision (Rush, Aldridge, etc).

5-0 at 70 mins. Great Performance.

That's the way champions should play 7-0:thumbsup:

We love you Liverpool we do
We love you Liverpool we do
We love you Liverpool we do
oh Liverpool we love you!

impressive....if they had done that against Benfica

Crouch actually had a chance of a hattrick but was replaced.

 7-0.

anyway, its jus Birmingham. :bsmilie:
nice to see Brucie's expression. :bsmilie: classic.

Everton here we come. We must not be too cocky. We do not want to be:

Chelsea
Manu
Arsenal
(in descending order of cockiness)

Nice to hear Benitez say that it is down to luck. If Chelsea win 7-0, Moanrinho will claim credit for himself (prick!).

Just Birmingham? Well, beating any team 7-0 is an achievement, esp away from home. I cant wait for the derby with us being in such fine form and everton winning 6 in a row as well....

Interesting to see that cockiness ranking is similar to EPL ranking... in that case, i prefer Liverpool to be the most cocky!! haha

Luck? yeah, we have plenty. I think we have abt 10 shots on target and 7 ended up as goals. In many matches, such as Benfica, Man U, Charlton and others, we have easily 20 chances or more but never score. Luck indeed favours us now.
