He was once a no.1 target for Houllier ard the treple season but i think he broke his neck or something and ended sign with Ranger and then Souness sign him... With a partnership of Boumsong and Bramble.. Newcastle is gonna suffer. I rem a match where the commentator says that teams are just waiting for a mistake by these 2 and they duly provide, time and time again.
Back to Liverpool, interesting to see Rafa play 5-3-2 but it works a treat. Also, we get to rest some players like Alonso etc. We have played well these 2 matches and hopefully will play well against birmingham and get to FA semis. Long live Liverpool!
afbug said:Hmm.........some players just cannot perform at certain clubs. Its like that. I'm sure you seen many examples of good players not performing to their level.
As for formation, i not sure. Its the tactics that won yesterday. Pressured Newcastle when they in possession and no chance to play. Their not so bright Def got no chance or skill but to hoof the ball towards their SC, bypassing their strong att mid. 4-4-2 also can win.
Chelsea lost to Fulham! Yay! :bsmilie:
yeah, it's a steal... Kromkamp was actually warned by Van Basten that he may lose his place in the Dutch squad if he joins Liverpool as he's not likely to be 1st choice. But to hell with it, it's Liverpool! he said! LOLurban said:Can you believe we actually swap Josemi for Kromkamp? It is an unbelieavable piece of business.

Agger is also very good, very composed. I think we have found a successor to Hyypia. I reckon, by next season, Agger will be starting and Hyypia will be on bench.
lazyleo76 said:Think one reason Rafa's formation worked cos Agger showed that he looked confortable carrying the ball forward. Luved Agger's run that led to the Stevies goal. Haven seen a centerback do that for a long time.QUOTE]
He reminded me of Hansen in the 80s. Confidence not only in breaking off the oppositions' attacks but actually carrying the ball upfield and feeding the forwards with precision (Rush, Aldridge, etc).

Interesting to see that cockiness ranking is similar to EPL ranking... in that case, i prefer Liverpool to be the most cocky!! hahaurban said:Everton here we come. We must not be too cocky. We do not want to be:
Chelsea
Manu
Arsenal
(in descending order of cockiness)
Nice to hear Benitez say that it is down to luck. If Chelsea win 7-0, Moanrinho will claim credit for himself (prick!).
