We missed Hypia

what a crap performance by Traore. Yes, we couldn't score. But we tried. We tried. Letting the goal in was a critical blow. Finnan was beaten by a class piece of skill, that doesn't take anything away our ever reliable right back.

Here's hoping we have money to spend come next season. To be this season's effectively over. Nothing else to fight for. For me, off field rumours will prolly be more interesting than on field performance from here onwards.

We lost.
We are still Liverpool.
We will never walk alone.

This season is just too long for us.
Congrats to Benfica for progressing.
 

As long as we have a quality manager in Benitez and resonable backing from the board, I am still optimist about next season.

The fact that this season is over for me is only because there is no way we'll not play in the champs league next season, this is not the case last season where we had to fight tooth and nail for the last spot.

Me thinks that before the first goal against us, we were bound to score. We had much better chances and movement than in the recent 1-0 and 0-0 matches we had. Was confident that this game, we'll be on the scoresheet.

Think we missed Hypia more this game cos I believe that having a shaky replacement in Traore got Benfica to realise that they could attack. Also our runs forward were muted as we were caught on the counter attack a few time.

I sooooooo agree. I think Morientes is as bad a buy as Pelegrino or Josemi.

I can't understand why he let, Owen, Baros and even Le Tallec or Pongolle go, and bring in Crouch and Morrientes????

I thought that Le tallec and Cisse had a very good partnership, and the few games they played together, they scored.

Give me Baros and Cisse any day over Crouch and Morientes.

OK to be fair, keep Crouch on the Bench, to be brought on in the second halfof a game to change things if need be.

Yep Baros and Cisse over Crouch and Mori, but even then, that's spoken on hindsight for me. Start of season, getting Mori over Baros was sweet business. We got decent money for baros, and Mori's got pedigree (I tot so at that time).

Le tellac's got attitude, in trouble even while on loan. Even less looked like he could solve our woes in attack. I like FSP tho.

Pelli and Josemi are gone, means our manger aint't afraid to change the mistakes he made. In him I trust. Just give him decent money to spend on players.

All right guys, bring on the Arse. Go go! YWNA
 

I think Benitez has the capability to bring Pool to great heights, I just think he needs some help in Striker selection and purchasing.
 

RB has to put all the blame on his strikers. just look at the strikers he let go. baros n sinama are scoring at their respective clubs. heskey is actually scoring also with his struggling B'ham team. The Kop rely too much on gerard to make things happen. i find it hard to swallow and moan the lost to benfica. this is not a one off match. the striking department has been AWOL since start of season. we could create our own downfall and let the grasp of champions league spot to Spurs or Arsenal or even the ovewhelming Rovers.

if we keep having goaless nites on a 15 shots on goal ratio a game, i rather we play 4-1-5-0 formation instead. wake up ur bloody idea strikers! even newcastle is grinding results than u do.

morientes mux go or on the bench. he has been out of sorts lately!
crouch with both cisse and fowler as strike force.
 

Honestly, i feel that Crouch is ok. He just needs to bulk up and gain some strength. He's unlucky not to score today and in the past few matches. At least with him, u can see how hard he tried and he gets to goal-scoring position.

For Morientes, i think Real is his 1st love and he never really settle down. Perhaps a Morientes for Ronaldo (yes, the fat boy can score) trade could be considered. As for Cisse, i think he's overrated. Bear in mind he only do well in French league with Auxurre and he played every match. I don;t see his committment as well.

Fowler, is without a doubt the best finisher of all. All time. If i am not wrong, this is his 7th match (6 sub and 1 full match) and he actually scored 3 disallowed goals. It's already an indication of how well this guy takes his chances as compared with the rest, esp with wasteful Garcia.

As for today's match, i already knew we would lose when i see traore playing CD.... i still rem last season FA cup loss and not to mention other incidents. I think for Traore, playing CD is a no-no. If he plays LB, still passable.
 

The reds can 3 players away from having a good 1st team.

2 strikers (1 quick fox in the hole + 1 roving centre forward) --- Owen + Dirk Kuyt
1 right winger --- Simao or even Malbranque


But then our reserves are not too good. However we have some good young players:-
FSP
ALT
Barragan
Warnock
etc

We also need to start preparing replacements for Finnan (30) and Riise (29), and start gelling the new players into the team.

We need Benitez. If Benitez quits, Liverpool sure ha-bez....play finish.
 

to all liverpool fans, real pool fans and not those "weather-fans"...now that the club needs money to buy players, will any of you chip in? even small amount counts. most importantly if someone is organize such thing, will you? let's see who are the real fans now. no gimmick here..just wanna to know!

If you mean chipping in as in starting a fund or something so that our money can be used to buy players, then I won't participate. This ain't the Tsunami fund ya know. Practical and logistic issues aside, the money won't solve anything if our lack of funds was due to mismagemant and marketing competency.

Better to buy Liverpool merchandise as a show of support, works better I think.

and buy a scarf to hang at home.
