GO GO GO!!!

Yup... 3 pts... that's all that mattered :)

glad for the 3 points but frustrated that we find it so hard to kill off a match. watching liverpool play is bad for the heart, man. everytime city cross our halfway line, my heart jump to my mouth. i know we are in control but fate had not been kind and i was so damn jumpy about us letting in a soft equaliser. probably lost 15 min of my lifespan every match that i watched......

poor momo. hope he'll be back. it's sad for one so young and so promising.

Yes, it's a stress supporting LFC... but what's more worrying (like what I said in #1166) is the fact that they have trouble putting more than one goal past the opponent in a 90-minute game for quite some games and with the return leg against Benfica come up...

1-0! wat a game! can't score more than 1 now! we've to hamtum Benefica in a fortnight's time!

com'on boys!!! morientes is a dud! sell him!

Fell asleep the second half,

Interesting,
reading some other websites made me think that Moro had a good first half, wonder how can that be...hmmm

Still very impotent up front.

Not very confident in 2 weeks time honestly.

at the rate we're doing, 1-0 wins... etc...

haiz... u've every right to be unsettled.

hmmm...1-0...not every good... and cannot kill of teams......

I know Cisse has a bit of an attitude problem, and Morientes is the good attitude hardworking footballer who does what the manger says, but I rather have an attitude striker who scores 20 to 30 goals a season than someone like Morientes.

I would really like to see Cisse get a run of 5-6 games playing the full 90 minutes to develop a propper understanding with the rest of the team, because I think if he does, he will score 20 to 30 goals a season.

Or if the rumours or true, sell Morientes, get Ronaldo, and partner him with Cisse.

Ronaldo's ain't good for the team in my opinion. One hell of a talented footballer, but a bit overweight and lazy. I know that he's scoring goals and could still beat anyone if he wants to but being talented aint't no excuse for working less hard. Look at ronaldinho. That said, he'll sure be a welcome replacement for Moro at the moment.

Regardless, ronaldo to Liverpool is highly unlikely. We won't overpay his wages, and prolly cannot afford to.

The other rumour that David Villa will be exchanged for Moro/Cisse is more believeable.

Aiyah, but now's now, we will cheer on our current team in 2 weeks time!!!!

nando is still useful for us but i would like to see fowler/crouch get a decent run together.

cisse on the other hand plays a little more like owen. he likes the ball passed to his feet and run at defenders, beating them with his speed and crashing the ball into the net. do we want to go back to that route? our play has evolved and we see better football being played. opponents are finding it very hard to get the ball off us and when they have the ball, they lose it almost immediately.

it gets very nervy when the opposition gets to our final third because we have become so accustomed in seeing us play in their half and final third. they pack the midfield and defence making it difficult for us to get the killer punch.

gerrard missed a golden chance to kill off the game and he knew it. he was hesitant in taking the shot on with his left and weaker foot and gave time for the defender put in a tackle and getting a knock on his left shin in the process.

we have strikers who can get the kill in the box but they are just not clicking together, eg, crouch knocking it down for fowler/cisse/nando. defenders close you down very fast in the box. the knockdown and kill has to be very well co-ordinated. it seems to me that crouch is the problem here. he's undecisive as what he wants to do when the ball is heading his way.

on the other hand we can see crouch's brilliance yesterday when he took the ball with back to goal just outside the box, turned the defender and shot at goal with the ball coming off the crossbar. another had crouch running through three defenders only to hit it straight at the goalie with his weaker foot.

teams are already wise to lfc's play and midfield superiority that whenever they play against us, they pack the midfield and defence and try to hit us on counter as we defend rather high up. yesterday's match is another good example of how 10men down, man city was able to launch three good attacks on our goal.

fortunately, we have three fast covers (finnan, agger and risse) assisting hyypia.

Agger, is he good?

i watched his movement and his on-the-ball skills. headers, posititioning, etc.etc...

no complaints thus far. left footed player. seems like a good investment for replacing Hyypia in the future.

looks good for me. yesterday was his second start and first full game. i thought he did very well though he was a little nervous when man city was on the counter as we were defending high.

in these situations, defenders cannot commit until the rest of the team comes back to defend.

agger did let the ball get on his wrong side for two or three times in the game. i think the team needs to get used to him as well.

hyypia and carra are two-footed players though i have noticed in recent times hyypia seemed to be stronger on his left. carra is right-footed but can still give a good kick with his left. agger was playing on hyypia's left yesteday.

If it means we get goals, why not? Is depending on the long ball and Crouch to knock the ball down a better approach? Against Man-city not too effective as their defenders are pretty tall, and everytime the ball headed Crouch's way, 2 went up with him, which meant he couldn't get effective control. None of the good chances came off that tactic, teams have gotten wise to it and have learnt to deal with it.
