i have decided!!!!!

i have thought about it for a very very very very very long time..

i know why liverpool plays so much better in europe than england!!!!!!!

*drums roll*

it's the gold sparkles on the jersey lah!

it makes them play better!!!!

=)

My take on this is that the majority of the continental players in the Liverpool team find the EPL too taxing. Too much running here and there, with overtouchy self-righteous referees who blow the whistle for every little petty infringement and they love to miss the obvious fouls. Also living in Liverpool city itself can't be much fun at all.

When they play Champions' League, it's a cup tie mood with generally more agreeable/reasonable referees, and the players get a chance to play against more interesting opponents that they can play more tactically and skillfully against. In a sense, it's more fun for them.

To do well in the EPL, takes a lot more effort............. Don't talk about playing man. I already feel tired watching a typical EPL game. I don't blame them if they generally can't be bothered.

It'll be darn funny if say Liverpool keeps ending up mid-table in the EPL and keeps winning the Champions' League for the next few years. I am just joking about this last sentence of course........ it's quite obvious that Wigan Athletic will be the next kings of Europe....

then why against chelsea in 2 back to back games... at anfield..

the results were SO different??

seriously.. it's the jersey lah...

I think it's more abt the style and pace. If you noticed, Europe game is more like chess, each team probe the other team looking for weakness. in EPL, it's usually very fast and furious. When it's fast, players such as Garcia will make mistakes and Alonso will have less time for pin point passes. More one-touch football is required in EPL.

 2-0!

though came late in the game... ;) finally string a hat-trick of victories! hopefully it'll be the start of many! ;)

Big match for the week. Man Utd vs Chelsea. Who's going to have the last laugh tml?

:bsmilie: imagine if fergie hire him as the " motivation consultant". confirm they will win every game. every player will play like roy keane at his prime for the full 90 min.

if not, he break his own record by hanging 11 men in 90 min!

yeah, he played pretty well on the left wing. but i thought the final ball from him is disappointing.
still, good to see him taking on defenders!

Somehow, I find that he only plays well for his country... more motivation and drive? But at Liverpool... :dunno:

Well, if Singapore can't even beat Thailand or Myanmar on a regular basis..........

And in 2010, there's the Australians to steal one place in the Asian confederation.

BTW, Trinidad and Tobago just beat Bahrain to qualify and they have about just 1 million population (it's the country with the smallest population ever to qualify for the WC). Uruguay has about 3 million in population with the majority of the team playing in some of the biggest clubs in the world.
