Seriously we should all get one, even if only for backup (like me). S$94 for a full function flash is dirt cheap...
Imagine. auto zoom with hide away refectors and diffuser, manual with 5 stop adjustment. Front/rear curtain sync, slave, LCD screen with BACK LIGHT(!). Don't think we can find a better deal than this.
lol I agree not many ppl will wan Pentax mounts, unless those exporters grab the whole bulk.:sweat:
Dun worry I'll still share what I feel is value for money. It's not really a cheap flash if u compare to those rebrand like Soligor DG-420 Z (abt 90GBP), Sakar 952AF (>US$100), Tumax DPT386AFZ in Korea (170000KRW) and Taiwan (6000TWD)
For features u lack wireless slave and beamer^^
Must keep telling ourselves (for those who managed to buy it) that we got a very gd deal.

Can you explain what is wireless slave and beamer? Just curious..
Wireless optical slave (dummy slave) will triggered the flash upon detecting a single flash light.
Beamer (spot beam) is an infra or red spot light to help focus in dark. I recall reading that this flash has this.

Can confirm the Riva SB-3000AF does have:
1) an AF red light for the camera to lock focus when ambient light is low
2) a wireless slave function. The unit will switch to M mode and you'll have to adjust the power ratio from full power till 1/16 power (4 stop/EV). As the flash is off camera, there is no power saving function.
In terms of power output, this flash unit is not in the same league as the Pentax AF-540FGZ or the Metz 48 AF-1. However it can certainly give the Pentax AF-360FGZ a run for the money.

The on paper spec says a Guide Number of 36 (m)/118 (ft) at 85mm position, ISO 100.
I'm guessing it's just a little less than the AF-360FGZ.

OK it's less powerful than AF-360FGZ. I'll say GN is 32-34 compared to AF-360FGZ GN 36.
So what can you do with 2?
mount on hotshoe 1/16 for trigger & other on light stand 1/4 power with plate out.
mount on hotshoe 1/16 for trigger & other on light stand 1/8 power with DIY snoot.
My personal guide to use this for ceiling bounce.
10 - 12 feet ceiling
if <=f2, use P-TTL, Camera ISO200
if on flash M mode, shutter 1/180 (f2.8=1/4, f3.5=1/2, f4/f4.5=1/1), shuter 1/90 (f2.8=1/8, f3.5=1/4, f4/f4.5=1/2, f5.6=1/1) . Camera ISO200
Edit: Recharge time for full charge is abt 12-15secs. If you those wanna take for official event dun use this as main flash hor.. backup can.^^
