TS, get a 17-40L F4 and a 70-200 F4 and a flash.

Definitely will go for the above mentioned.

Don't touch EFS if you're looking forward to upgrading to probably a 1 series.

EFS not to say its no good but they have their "uses" for others...

I'll include a 50 F1.8 in that range if budget allows.

Yes...Primes of cos no need to say. I tested this lens b4 at AP, I didn't like its construction and pic quality as i thought it wasn't as 'vivid' as 17-40, all the 70-200s, the 17-35, 24-70, 28-70, 100-400, 16-35 and 20-35.

Good choices! The 70-200 f/2.8 will be better if pocket allows.

I'll get the 24-105 if i have the $$$ ... and no, after the test i've seen by CYRN .. its a ok lens to get ... (hell! .. its a 28-135 on steriods with L glass) how can i resist?

Given me a choice, i'd go for the 70-200 f/2.8 and 16-35 f/2.8 or 17-40 f/4.

its really a good lens.But more suited for FF IMO.
Still, the range on a 1.6x or 1.3x is still tempting..

... and yes .. the 24-105 still gets my vote as a good lens to have although it might be a little long on a 1.6x / 1.3x crop body.

Think we still have left out the flash ... - say 430EX for basic usage?
