btw how can we prevent dust on the sensor? do not change lens frequently?
you cannot prevent it per se
but you can minimise it
as others have mentioned elsewhere, facing down your camera when you change lens, and only change when the air is more static is a good idea
always switch off your camera when switching lenses
these are two good rules to follow to minimise dust instances, i guess

Yeah, the Pentax cleaning kit doesn't work for those sticky spots, some cleaning solution like the eclipse is the way to go. Actually I've always recommended the eclips cleanser plus pec pads combo for lens cleaning
Artic Butterfly? That's kinda expensive. Luckily dust hasn't been a bid problem to me, yet. Otherwise I might just get one too

Yeah, agreed. I got the eclipse and sensor swab to clean the sensor on my DS also. Pentax cleaning kit mainly for cleaning K10D and when travelling.

I am using "this". First, I would use a blower to blow the camera sensor. Then swab it with the sensor swab. Remember to overturn the camera so that the sensor is facing the ground as I heard from somebody(cannot remember) that gravity make the dust fly away when u blow it.
Personally I don't like the idea of using fluids on sensors as the sensor on the K10/K100D has a special dust-repellant coating... well thats just me.

yar, $120 or so, IIRC
but won't want to risk dragging unwelded dust around i guess
to be honest, the sensor filter is a lot more durable than people always paint it out to be.. unless mine is spoilt beyond belief already and i still don't know
pictures still look ok to me though :bsmilie:

anyways, don't be too anal about dust, if it 's not too many spots, why go to all the trouble?
clone tool in photoshop will be your best friend

those are immensely expensive
you probably need it once, after that you can just kope the sensor swab stick and wrap pec pads around it
an alternative, should you dare to weather it, is what i used to do when i was much more financially constrained.. just use very very expensive cotton buds (higher quality).. always make sure you keep them very pristine condition. use blower to blow away any excess dust on the tip, then use sensor cleaning solution on it and use like a sensor swab/ pec pad.
btw, only do the last paragraph at your own risk hor. for me seems ok. actually all self-cleaning things.. if you really not confident then i guess best to let the techs do it for you.
if you are under budget constraint, i would suggest the sensor cleaning fluid from ppcp. it works fine. and is wayyyy cheaper htan eclipse (from photographic solutions)
they also have sensor swabs, but honestly i think the quality not very good (hope they don't see this hahahaha)

BTW, before you go all the way to shriro, have you tried blowing away the dust using a lens blower. you can buy these cheap for around $10-$15. if that fail, then bring to shriro...
