theITguy is referring to the forex charge they add to the total cost. If you check out the exchange rate used, it's usually around 2.5% higher than the interbank rates.

Is singapore included in the international warranty?

Probably will ask someone to check with them in Nov and buy from there instead.


We might want to call Panasonic to check and confirm before buying official set in HK. If warranty is not covering Singapore, then better to buy grey set.

YMMV. All good information for brothers here. In any case, all in (with all charges incl GST + shipping) is < S$1220. Got it in under a week. They also have the 35-100 in stock. All in would probably be $1700.

Good price. Need to factor in risk of damaging lens in flight. Thats all.

Have been using this lens on a regular basis for nearly 3 months. This is the BEST standard zoom available for m43. I don't even use it with the lens hood anymore. Flare is pretty well controlled unless in extreme conditions. IMHO this lens make the Oly 12/f2 redundant (it is still a very good lens......). Loses out to the Pany 25/f1.4 on contrast and bokeh ...... Only significant grouse I have (common to most Pany lenses) Have to be the rubber grip .....

Had a very significant recent price drop recently. Got mine close to S$1600.

Hi Wonglp. Thanks for the tip this morning re sending to Lawson convenience store if travelling to Japan. Looks like a great way to get this lens if travelling to Japan. I researched more into it and apparently for just a 315yen charge one can get it delivered to a Lawson store on COD payment terms i.e. pay for the lens in cash when picking up at the Lawson store. Have you tried this or will you be trying it?

I used another method, is to send to any lawson store nearby hotel. Sending to hotel and asking them to hold makes me worried unless I had a confirmed room number, and some hotels may charge for a handling fee.

Buying from amazon jp may require credit card to be confirmed to USA, and it can only be done by fax with the latest statement that shows your account and name.
