They left behind the S2 and a Noctilux.... ha!

Amateurs, everyone knows a Leica Boutique has almost 0 stock.

eh no leh. seriously I think there's more on display than what many shops stock..

Only if you are talking about Leica products. Just about any camera shop will have more stocks (Canon, Nikon, Sony etc) in terms of cash value and a lot more "moveable" on the gray market.

I mean if you are going to rob, make sure it gets you the most value.

I'm sure the loss covered by insurance.

Maybe the thieves knew this particular shop got low security.

I think robbers should target leica collectors instead of leica retailers hee hee

Now that is a really scary thought:p

chey.. for a moment I thought it was the Raffles Hotel store..

was looking fwd to reading the drama unfold in the papers if it were so..:bsmilie:

ya weird.. they left out noctilux and the s2... even that 75mm s2 lens is also quite exp also nv take..

Haha yeah really weird. If the robber is really robbing for value. He should have emptied the show case. Why still left some there. Unless the robber is a Leica collector so he just took what models he don't have and left the ones that he already got.

I would personally imagine that some of the items are mockups rather than the actual product...

It's pretty dumb to steal those though since they all have serial numbers on the outside and every one is traced. I expect the person who stole it will also be using it.

those left behind are probably empty mock-up shells of bodies and lenses for display only

Probably another clever marketing ploy : ie Leica promote their desirability by robbing themselves.

it is a big crime to do so.... but it does make sense too... a very good PR for them.
