Leica M7 - Servicing & Repairs

Good morning Gurus!

Just wanted to get your advice / opinion on maintaining a Leica M7 which i bot 2nd hand from ebay...

I'm not keen to pack up my camera to send all the way to Germany for servicing and repairs (i cant imagine being separated from her for such a long time!). Was wondering who/where in Singapore we can send our Leicas to for preventive maintainance and for upgrades like fixing the DX Reader and upgrading to MP finder.

I've tried twice to fix my Leicas locally, but it was always disappointing and not cheap in the first place. Both times I had to send them to Schmidt again which sent the babies to where they were born. The wait is long but there is a peace of mind that my babies are well taken care of. But I think Schmidt may not be keen to service stuffs not bought locally. How about sending your M7 to purgatory? http://www.sherrykrauter.com/repairs.php

In the meantime, just visit Chiif to get a VC body to ease the urge from the separation.

Thanks for the info! I've sent SK an email to check on the cost and duration.

Maybe got excuse to get another M7 in the interim!! ;p
