Sad.... but true... I have to admit that I think a lot of non-achieving old foggies (like us) seem to see owning a Leica as a last chance to be admitted to the sainted brotherhood of the 'fotographers' ..... sad.. sad.. sad.. sad.. :cry:

99% of the members here are prob not even qualified to be called photographers, cameraman at best, me included.

folks i bot the LX2, no regrets. suggest u hold the D-Lux3 in yr hand b4 u decide. cant imagine no having the little grip the LX has. the Dlux will be hard to hold.

tried it and I didnt like the small grip there. YMMV.

The D-Lux 2 has no grip as well but I don't find it hard to hold at all and I have big hands. It would probably not look so stylo if there was a grip on it like its Panasonic counterpart. So I guess it all boils down to personal preferences.

Won't deny that D-Lux3 looks sweet in all black finish on it's own, but D-Lux2 match up nicely with Metz slave flash.

You might like to try the Sunpak Remotelite II slave flash from Cathay Photo (about $50+). cheaper than Metz and works very well on my D-Lux 2.

I bought it from Alex Photo 2nd PP. One thing about me is I never have a good track of keeping my receipts, it's all over the place, shall have to find it and revert later.

The flash besides being colour matching with LX1 silver or metallic whatever it is called, it works wonders with the digital camera at least on my D-Lux2, so I assume should be the same on LX1. It has this Easy Mode, where it will learn the PnS pre-flashes for first time setting after that it is good to go.

However, I cannot get it set on Easy Mode for F30... on F30 I had to set the aperture, ISO manually to get good exposures. Wonderful small flash to have handy around, a well spent money in my view.

Found the receipt $200 bought in April, so try to get it lowered lah. I do not think it comes in any other colour, though there is other models.
