Sukhoi Superjet 100-95 (Registration Number: RA-97004 / Manufacturer's Serial Number (MSN): 97004) is now officially declared missing after it lost all form of contacts (including but not limited to Primary Surveillance Radar (PSR) returns, Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) returns and radio communications) 30 minutes after taking off from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (WIHH) for a demonstration flight.
RA-97004 was operating at Flight Level (FL) 100 (~ 10,000 feet Above Mean Sea Level (AMSL)) when the flight crew requested an immediate descent to Flight Level (FL) 060 (~ 6,000 feet Above Mean Sea Level (AMSL)), all contact with the aircraft was subsequently lost at approximately 2012-05-09 T 16.30.00 +8 in the vicinity of Mount Salak, a volcanic range with a maximum elevation of 7,254 feet.
Search and Rescue (SAR) is underway for the 44 souls on-board and no signal from the aircraft's Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) broadcasting at a Ultra High Frequency (UHF) of 406 MHz has so far been received by Cospas-Sarsat.
