Haven't used the 5D before but have a 1Ds MKI...also from Canon camp and recently bought into Fujifilm. Both cameras have their uses IMHO...would keep both if I could.

Recession is in full gear, I think it would be best to hunt for a body alone offer (probably looking below S$1K for brand new) & invest in some cheapo prime len like 35mm f2 (S$420) & 50mm f1.8 ($150) that will enable u to cover low light photography. U can use these prime len later for your Full Frame DSLR 3-5yr down the road.

I think I will keep my olympus E330 to compliment my S5Pro as E330 is sharp & good colour in good daylight. S5Pro dynaic range is light years ahead of what my E330 can manage.

i was in tokyo thinking i could grab one cheap cos its a discon model. boy was i disappointed. few shops i went to didnt have it anymore and those that did were very ex.

Oh, I was so tempted by the A900 and CZ 24-70/2.8 prior to buying the S5. Now of course broke, so cannot afford it. The price of that package was around $6K here in Aussie. While the DR doesn't get anywhere near that of the S5 it is still better than that of its competitors.

Now is the time Fuji is finally starting to make money on their S5 sales, I think. They'd be making less each time, but the sheer quantity would be overwhelming.

I just bought a brand new S5 Pro this afternoon @ $1,160. Price includes a tripod and Fujifilm DSLR camera bag for the S5 Pro. This is my first DSLR. I am quite confident that I have made the right decision buying this. :bsmilie:
