Yo, i'll go for the 18-55 VR, then 55-200 VR, if my budget allows then i'll go for 18-200 VR in the future.

Do not really like the 18-135 lens though, due to the fact that at such a focal range it does not come with VR and the review wasn't really ideal for quite an expensive kit lens at $600+.

Will get the D200+18-55mm VR either today or tmr

Most ppl will use 18-200mm VR($1.2k) on DXXX series.

If you got a high budget then can go for fast & professional f/2.8 lens, like AF-S 28-70mm f/2.8D IF-ED or AF-S VR 70-200mm f/2.8G IF-ED :bsmilie:

Not really most DXXX user will go for 18-200mm VR la. It is subjective to individual i guess. Most of my DXXX user friends prefer more dedicated lenses at f2.8.

And i guess if got enough dough, most will go for 24-70 than the 28-70 since it is a newer model with nano coating to reduce flare and not to mentioned, the 4mm makes a big difference.

As for 70-200 f2.8, hehe, no horse run. ;p

For those who are looking for D200 brand new, I discovered today at AP , they said that Nikon has dropped the price of the famous D200.

New price package - D200 + 18-55mm VR lens at only $1550 with GST man!!

price without the lens is less $150 / $200 i think.

That makes the brand new price of a new D200 body going for only $$1350...

woah...this is a big indication that the 2 'newer' models that Nikon plans to launch FF bodies are definitely happening this year...

( ** I do not work at AP, just a regular customer, that's all )

Not that John 3:16 has no stock but they push more of Canon and the latest gadget instead of pushing a 2 year old obsoleted D200.

if they really sell the new D700 at the estimated price of $4.5K SGD, it's really a big difference between D700 & D300 price ;
( >$4.5K vs $2350 current D300 price at AP & Lord's )....i absolutely doubt the new D300 body price will dip further.

You have to ask yourself - how much will the old 5d drop to?

Between the old 5D and a new D300, without nikon glass...
