why :mad2: ? I thought you have got the k-x ? envy you .... I am still stuck on my k200d, really hesitate due to the top LCD and weather resistant.

Haha... ok lah, just joking. Quite happy with the K-x.
I switched from the K10D to the K-x, I thought I would miss the secondary LCD and WR, but not really.

Its actually a cat-and-mouse game. Right now, as of today, local Singapore prices for K-x kits are almost SG $100 cheaper than the cheapest of online deals! That's a huge differential. Plus, you get local warranty.
But I bet after sometime the online guys will catch up once again... and the wheel will keep on turning and turning like this!

Actually one cent lower! I jumped at this offer upon the good advice of some members here! This offer was withdrawn shortly thereafter!!
Here is the email I received from Amazon today saying my kit has been shipped... finally!... whew!!... after a long frustrating wait (since 3rd January)... and the sad finale is that I am not in Singapore at the moment to receive this shipment! I return back to Singapore only next month and these kits will simply sit unused in the meantime! Arrrgggh!!
BTW, this references just the K-x (Black) Dual Kit with DA L 18-55mm & 55-300mm zoom lenses. After including Standard Delivery (4-6 days) shipping to my Singapore address plus GST paid at Singapore checkpoint, my actual cost is approximately SGD $1000 (no freebies however, other than an set of 4xAA Lithium Energizer batteries which is included in the box.)
Even today I end up saving about SGD $100-150 based on current local Singapore pricing (latest Emjay prices). But after I sell off the mint (unused) 18-55mm for $100, my actual savings will be about SGD $200-250 i.e. almost a 20%-25% lower cost in comparison to even the latest Emjay prices. And had the local Singaporean prices not fallen, just imagine the whopper my actual savings would have been!!
Heh... heh! Me thinks all this was worth it... me availing that short-lived Christmas/New Year offer et al!
For those who are still thinking about waiting for prices to drop even lower than the recently announced new CNY prices by EMJAY... I strongly advise against doing so. Jump at this beautiful local Singaporean pricing offer NOW and enjoy your new camera!
For all you know, the U.S. dollar has fallen enough in recent times and may just begin to rise again. It this does happen, you can bet the current pricing will be revised upwards.
Forget about ordering online from other countries at this moment! Prices in Singapore are much lower right now... unlike when I placed my orders on 3rd January this year!!

sircam, you may have made a little savings buying from Amazon (you should discount the selling of the kit lens in your computation) BUT it is not as much as your imagine it to be.
For one thing, you still haven't even received your item that you ordered, and as we all know, time is money. One can hop on a bus, train or taxi and would be able to pick up the new K-x almost immediately and start shooting. You would have been able to select the camera body color of your choice (instead of black only) and you'd be able to test it on the spot and maybe even develop a rapport with the retailer. One would get a fully warrantied local set with trusted support, no need to correspond with Pentax US for an international warranty and wait for them to send it to you. Not to mention any additional paperwork and time on the computer in the process. Hope you enjoy your camera.

I dont think you can calculate it that way, if you can sell off the 18-55 DAL for 100, so can those latest buyers sell off their 18-55, and with all these WR dual lens promo, the DAL version kit lens may not even fetch $90 brand new..
Another fact to note is your dual lens and body are international warranty? One of the thread around seemed to say emjay may request you to pay for shipping. So even if each item has <1% of defects, you have to incur higher losses. Which would also bring back to the selling price of the 18-55 DAL, if a local set is being sold for 100, you would have to sell much lower because of the warranty problems.
The $103 savings compared to SLR revolution in the case will be v minute..
I think any valid savings comparison currently can only be done between local sets before and after the price drop.
FYI, i bought my K-x during late October.
