After doing some reading I think I'll settle for the Canon EOS 7D
I settled in my mind for the same, bcuz of L glass...

Unless L glass can fit K-7, lol, things may turn out to be interesting. = RED CAMP

The limiteds and *star lenses are equivalently good at more reasonable prices.I settled in my mind for the same, bcuz of L glass...

They are both semi pro bodies and have almost the same features so yes they are comparable!
I would not go as far as saying that they are the same. Pros and cons here and there between the two. Different pricing as well.
You get quite a bit for the price you pay for a K7.
uhh yeah both are semi pro.. i was thinking k-7 is more comparable to 50D because they're more close with regards to specs and price, although K-7 and 7D's release date are more close. pricing? 7D is far more expensiveThey are both semi pro bodies and have almost the same features so yes they are comparable!
Though they are not directly the same in focal lengths covered per lens

Hey thanks for the pricelist for pentax lenses, the only L lens i look up to is 135mm fixed focal f/2.0, other than that, i may try 3rd party...
My personal opinion is exactly this. If I want to pay the money and endure the heavy/large lenses of CnN, it has to be for the fastest glass (even if its just a tad faster). Otherwise no point for the hassle when Pentax can give the same lens for cheaper/lighter/smaller.
I can't find at Pentaximaging website. what does A* means?BTW, FYI, Pentax does have an A*135/1.8![]()

btw European calls LTD lenses as L... lol, so pentax do have L glass too...
Yes Pentax have L glass, but it is the one which is bundled with k-x. means it is the kit lenses.
but there are upper range lenses for pentax, the star(*) lenses. depending on the generation of lenses it has pro build, SDM and weathersealed for recent models.
A*
FA*
DA*
there are also limiteds, FA limiteds and DA limiteds, which is mostly metal bodied ones and boasts very good IQ.
any source/link to go with that?iirc most ppl regard those star (*) lenses from pentax more optically superior than the top lenses from other makers..
Ah. Can forget about A*135. Highly elusive. Even if you can find second hand, be prepared for some $1.8-2k. And it's a manual focus too. BUT.... It's a god-like lens!!!My personal opinion is exactly this. If I want to pay the money and endure the heavy/large lenses of CnN, it has to be for the fastest glass (even if its just a tad faster). Yeah, it looks "not tat nice" nor cool. But mind you, this is one heck of a lens. You probably need to be a Pentaxian long enough to be able to recognise it. Else, if you see it on street, you may think it is some old school cheap lens. It has a cousin too, the A*85mm.
Nice one, pinholecam. Yeah manz, somehow I love Pentax A series best, in terms of design and built. And they are not all built the same - surprise? The 1.2, 85* and 135* are the creme of crop of the A series - in built and optical quality. Much tougher to complete than say the FA limiteds (in silver). Lol.On the A*85, here is an interesting one :

The A series seems to have some of the most unique lenses from Pentax (50/1.2, 85/1.4, 135/1.8, and a very small 300/4)
