that is becos the upper class practices confucianism.

that i wouldn't actually agree. the language system is origin based (people who originated in the same area and started to develop verbal language at that time, speaks similarly), and that have started way before the chinese forms a common ethnic identity towards the end of the warring states till the early han. the vocabulary however is a common bank shared with intermixing and sharing, rather than a "from" and "to" relationship.

This is what some koreans claim. They claim they invented the Chinese Language or it originated from them (maybe from Bakjae). For Chinese, I agreed a common ethnic identity is formed much later till the early han period. For Korea then? Think it is likely they converge to a common identity much later maybe until the end of the 3 kingdoms period when silla united korea. Historically at least in China, it has been more of a case where the more supreme culture body is likely to absorb the "less" cultural parties. (Not my viewpoint. It is Qian Mu viewpoint, in his "Brief outline of National History"国史大纲.) In other words culturally backwards will be influenced by the culturally stronger ones.

first of all, that isn't what i'm saying. i'm saying that the origin of the altaic language system, when human beings start to talk with noises each other understood, started before the formation of ethnic identity of either chinese or koreans, so the grammar system will be held there through generations unless the whole verbal language is uprooted and replaced by another verbal language.

emm..... i never believe in the mentality of cultural superiority becos that is the trick that cultural chauvinists would apply on nationalism, which is how the WWII in asia and europe started. historians do not help in this matter, they try to dilute it by these theories and pretend to forget that these cultural assimilation occurs predominantly by war, colonialism and marginalization in demographics.

the reason why i like about travel and travel photography, is that i get to see these different cultures with diversity, although every area has some similarity with another place in proximity. a place without identity would be boring to go through.
