"A company (Korea) called DiCAIN have released a product a vertical grip for KM 5D where only shutter release button works. Currently, the product is not available for purchase and only way to buy the item is through a Minolta forum called http://www.minoltaDslr.com. The item is expected to be availble for pre-order in late Feburary"

gate511...

can share with us your experience?....

How does the inside of the GRIP?
Is it hollow?
Solid?
Any space?

I am wondering since they already have an intention to produce this why don't they consider putting the battery compartment in it too. Such a waste of space. They should come out with a proper battery grip i.e. like those produce by other manufacturers.:(

My guess is that they did not do the design themselves. The design could have come from some old camera grip and all they did was to mod it to suit the KM 5D. If they did design, then they have really forgotten bout the juice. :dunno:

Another concern is when the grip is attached, you cant change battery. So you have to remove the grip before you do that everytime you change battery.

I dont mind that...MO...MO...MO...!!!

yeah the VG is just designed like an RC1000S with a pumped up body that attaches to the 5D

if you make the wire longer & detach it from the body you have a Remote ;)

Everybody knows that, but the thing is to manufactor a grip so he/she can work better vertically :D

Maybe they will issue the grip with battery pack later on. If you have gone to their page they have 2 version for the Pentax grip one with battery and one without.
