Hey folks!
I took a glance at my profile and realised that I joined CS on 19th January 2002. That's 11 years ago and almost as long as I've been taking photos seriously. Its was an enjoyable 11 years and photography had helped me developed observation skills which is extremely useful in my work as an architect. In 2008, I even started picking up some assignments from my business associates. At times when I thought architecture was taking its toll, photography was my saviour and going full time crossed my mind many times.
However, for the past 6 months, it seems like photography is slowly fading away. I no longer search for new locations actively. I no longer wake up at 5am, dashing out of the house for that sunrise. Good photos don't inspire anymore and I've even stopped looking for new assignments. In short, I think I don't like taking photos anymore. I thought perhaps its time I take a break and divert my attention to my work as an architect and my family.
Throughout the 11 years, I've come to know many wonderful photographers from Singapore and Australia especially. These people occupy a significant part of my life as we share the same interest. Organising 11 architectural and cityscapes outings in the past 3 years had given me many opportunities to meet more friends. People like David, Cheng Kiang, Y S, Jed, Ian, Gim Pak, Bernard, Kelvin, Arifin, Bert and (how can I forget) the late Zul made the journey sweeter.
I hope this break will be temporary and hope to see you guys soon!
Cheers,
Kit
